With respect- please understand that saying things like the above IS FEEDING the troll. It *is* a violation of Disney rule for an employee to take pictures in any backstage area. The key here is that the photos were taken in an area easily, legally accessable by a guest without tresspassing - NOT in an area where you would need to produce company credentials in order to gain access into.

Exactly if you don't have to present an employee ID then how in the hell is it a prohibited backstage photo when any average Joe can access this area!?

The best part about having a rental car is so you CAN go driving on the public roads which go a little behind the scenes and reveal "Disney guts".
Disney guts actually add to the magic for us.

No kidding. I actually got turned around back behind EPCOT once and ended up in something that looked like a waste disposal facility entrance. LOL

perhaps I was a bit harsh, but that area *IS* considered backstage by the company..

and there are no signs that take you through this area.. as a matter of fact, this road has signage that states that it's for disney employees ONLY....
The signs start near Space mountain and wrap all the way around to Grand Floridian..

Odd... I've been down Floridian Way many times and have never seen any signs.... I've seen the signs at the entrance to the backstage areas yes, but this is not a backstage area. It is a "normal use" road. Face it, you came into yet another thread, spouted off without thinking, and then got slammed for it. There are thousands of other threads available for you to go start something else in. I hear there is a ripe "Hyperion Wharf" thread of a February 22nd vintage that would go well with your meal. And it only has 48 posts too! Go get em!

All joking aside, you are right in one regard. Disney does not like "backstage" photos to be taken. That much is true. I would be lying if I said that most of us would not love to see some of the things that go on backstage. But it isn't typically allowed. But the photo you so promptly started chewing on was from a normal, everyday, guest road. If Disney doesn't want us seeing the top of a tent (yes, it sounds just that ridiculous) then they would build a 100 foot wall.

Ohhh, and another thing, if this photo got your dander up then you might want to steer clear of several Disney shows like Modern Marvels: Walt Disney World and Samantha Brown's Disney Holidays. They both show the little man behind the curtain. ;)

To the best of my knowledge, the only sign back in this area is on Center Drive as you come in off of Reams Road. And it doesn't say "CM's only", but rather is more of a legal disclaimer saying you're entering private property, and that only employees, Guests and vendors are allowed. (This is to keep those who've been Trespassed off of property)

You see the exact same sign as you come on-property on Sherberth Road.

Apart from that, the only other possible signs are those as you come out of the Contemporary and GF pointing southward saying "All Guest Areas", but they in no way say "Do Not Enter" if you were to go north.

No, there are signs on Floridian way.. I'll be glad to take a picture the next time I drive though (tomorrow possibly) and post them, because the are posted at the 'edge' of the backstage area ... so it is ok to post from there

I do agree that it is a grey area for cars, but the signs are all there that say that it's for company vehiciles only.. they are white signs with black lettering that say something to the effect of "Walt Disney World Service Vehicles ONLY"... again, I'll get a picture and post it asap.

ok can we turn back to the subject at hand, and that is talking about all great things FLE, instead of Bickering about what photo was shot by whom and where.

if it is against CM Policies, then let Kharma get the job done.

I come on here to see updates and Photos, not two guys jaring about Cast Member Policies

If that road is restricted then Google is in trouble also since Google Street View is available for the entire loop of Floridian Way around the park.

Google isn't a disney employee... but I agree with the above poster... time to get back to the discussion.. The tents look GREAAAAAAAAAAAT!

Has the blue one started install yet? At least it looks like the tents will be finished on the outside before storybook circus opens...

I still think it's going to be confusing to the average guest... Guests will likely consider 'storybook circus' it's own land, even though it is part of fantasyland... Hopefully the fantasyland trainstation will help that ...

It is true there is a sign that says authorized vehicles only, but its not till you get to the guard gate to the Park 3 entrance that there is a sign saying “Entering backstage area, no more photography past this point” So this picture is perfectly fine no matter who took it.

There are 100’s of pictures of backstage MK taken by CM, and disney really doesn’t care. As long as there is no half dressed character pictures they are not going to fire anyone, and thats if they even find them. There’s thousands of cast members on WDW property its impossible to monitor them all to make sure no non-CMs sees any Disney secrets, like what shades of red a new tent is or what the Main Street utilidors break room looks like.

was looking at an old picture of Birthday Land and then at a picture of the proposed Storybook Circus. so in the original there were four tents, two big ones, an oval shaped one and a small one. now there are two big ones, and supposedly were Petes silly sideshow is going to be is another smaller one, any idea if they will add the Oval shapped one that hides that Green Building behind it?

plus I dont think Casey Jr will be open when Storybook circus does. hard to work on a water play area in the middle of winter. but with that being said, i hope that the water feature below the dumbos are operational

My son and daughter-in-law returned from Disney World yesterday and this is one of the pictures they took of a tent in the new Fantasyland.

I am very impressed by the photos of Storybook Circus thus far. Way better then the concept art and descriptions.

The train station looks classic. The tents look majestic. The aerial photos make the hardscape and paving look intricate.

What an improvement over Starland... Birthdayland... Toontown Fair.

It does look good, indeed.

Of course, almost anything would have been an improvement over Temporary Tent Land too!

Me too! I am really interested in the Casey Jr. train station; that thing looks gorgeous and very finely Imagineered! I can't wait to see pictures when it's done, and/or get to inspect it in person later this year.

I am concerned that it will be over toonified if you know what I mean, but aesthetically they have done a great job thus far.

Completely agree. It was definitely undersold. Everything about it is the Disney level of detail we've come to expect.

I'll see if my daughter-in-law can email me some. If not it will be next week when I get the flashdrive with all their pictures.
