Yep a lot of work to go, and a LOT of testing. For everyone getting excited... SDD completed it's track on August 1st 2017 and didn't open until June 30th 2018.
There is a lot of work left to do as this is basically a new ride (scenery is already done, but there could be new effects)

I didn't know that haha. still though... there is so much work to do between attaching the last part of the track and putting guests on it.But SDD spent 6 months waiting for tails......
Yes but not from a refurb like this. They want this back.Disney has waited to open rides until it is more convenient for them (like when they opened Remy on the day of MK’s 50th anniversary to spread crowds out).
Agreed, I'm sure they will open it as soon as they possibly can. If it's sooner than 2026, I'm sure they'll be as thrilled as the first guests to ride again. Once the track is done and tested, it's all up to the new effects. I can't imagine it would take six months to install a few new lights and smoke in that final lift hill.Yes but not from a refurb like this. They want this back.
They’re still building the maintenance building.Agreed, I'm sure they will open it as soon as they possibly can. If they can build it as fast as they build new DVC resorts, shouldn't be a problem. They’re still building the maintenance building.
It's not possible to. I don't mean because Disney is slow but it is just not at all possible for anyone to get the ride open just a month after laying the final track piece. If they could open a month form now that would be amazing!
Do I think that will happen? No.
That should not take 6 months. That doesn’t mean it’ll reopen sooner, but that part alone does not seem difficult. They’re still building the maintenance building.
I understand the maintenance shed will have a fancy Murphy bed and a beverage cooler! If they can build it as fast as they build new DVC resorts, shouldn't be a problem.
Is there a DVC point chart for the maintenance shed?I understand the maintenance shed will have a fancy Murphy bed and a beverage cooler!
They got a really late start on that part of the project due to demo. Throwing up walls is easy but I dont know what kind of tooling needs to be installed and calibrated in the maintenance shed. Based on the building height there could possibly be a gantry crane install. Very possible that area needs to be complete prior to test and adjust, making it a pacing item for test cars. That should not take 6 months. That doesn’t mean it’ll reopen sooner, but that part alone does not seem difficult.
If you have to ask, you don’t have enough points. Is there a DVC point chart for the maintenance shed?![]()
We'd all be riding this tonight if it weren't for the maintenance shed.
