They are going backwards with everything they do...I dont understand why they blacked out those windows, turned off the glowing effects, just everything has either been completely turned off or let go. Are we in business or going out of business, sheesh.
all the while raising prices, coming up with new schemes to drain every dollar from your wallet while the quality continues to decline. It is sad to watch.... But the parks are mobbed and until they hit that tipping point, they are not going to suddenly say "Hey! I know! Let's make better quality attractions...Let's restore what was always great about WDW"...Just more push to synergize with the other branches of the company....

Get Premier Rides to redo Space Mountain. You can get a spaghetti bowl coaster in its place. A launch of 60 MPH with 4 inversions. Add some special effects and you're all set.
So basically a souped up version of DLP’s space mountain?

But where is that tipping point, I thought the massacre by Chapek where magic express and a ton of perks went, was it for everyone but obviously not.

It seems no matter how much they increase the prices by, the bulk of lower earners especially will find ways to still make it doable like getting into debt over.

DLP's Space Mountain is basically Rock N Roller Coaster with an inclined launch... almost exactly.... I am hoping that when the time comes to retrack Space Mountain that they retain the basic layout but maybe bank some sections to smooth out the ride experience.... but not a complete new design... Disneyland's Space Mountain is just a series of banked curves...no real drops... Just inclines... I much prefer our original version with it's two distinct tracks.... It needs on-board audio and some better show scenes and effects... that's all

I think keeping space mountain's layout the same is the right call.
Yeah. I've felt for awhile the parks need some bigger thrills.
I think a more thrilling space mountain is cool, but isn't the best idea for MK's tommorowland. Tron took the spot as the more thrilling coaster (in regards to height requirement) so I think having space mountain be the coaster that more families can go on is a better idea.

They managed to drastically improve the experience of Disneyland's Space Mountain without changing the actual layout. If they get around to doing it in MK, I think it will be mostly the same approach. The chances of it getting substantially changed, especially enough to mirror Paris, is virtually zero with Tron right next door now.

Disneyland's Space mountain layout lacks a lot of the more thrilling parts of our version...It is basically just a series of inclines and banking curves without the occasional drops and switch-backs. I am hoping that an eventual retrack would retain it's iconic design while plussing it up with audio, special effects, and restored speed-ramp and show scenes....

Same. We have a much better track layout.

For me, I find those DL banking curves are both much more frequent and thrilling then the drops on MK's space mountain and DL's is noticeably faster. Having said that, I agree not to change MK's classic layout..... improve the effects, lift experience, and add on board audio and they will have successfully refresh it.

Both DL and MK Space Mountains have banked corners, it's just that they are different layouts and DL's has been retracked and negotiates the track more smoothly. I love them both, but I prefer MK's layout.

Disneyland's curves are far more banked than Magic kingdoms. I can understand why some people call Magic kingdoms a wild mouse. MK's are banked but not by much.

I need original pops of airtime for MK and smoother.

I don't want to just turn in the dark.

Drops, cookie asteroids and glow striped vehicles with proper queue and post show.
Agreed. I get that the idea with the last refurb was “make it dark like actual space to modernize it!” but honestly, retro is in now. Make it look ‘70s now as the perfect foil for ultra-futuristic Tron.

I don’t think I buy that they would consider demolishing MK’s Space Mountain. Wouldn’t that also mean the Peoplemover tracks would need removed or rebuilt?

(By demolish I mean a Tokyo style redo, not the retrack that DL had…)

No. And I hope and pray that WDW's Space Mountain never gets that weird Tokyo SM Facelift... It is bizarre....and I think will end up looking bad and dated... The clean lines of our original Space Mountain are as fresh looking now as when it was built even though it is a product of it's age... I can only hope one day all of Tomorrowland will be upgraded and refreshed into it's fantastic 1970s Streamlined fabulousness...instead of the chock-a-block mismatched mess it is now. Even the 90s redo looked better than it currently does...
