I just don’t understand the need for Communicore Hall. There’s literally the Odyssey building just across the park that functions the same way and the World Showplace tent is there for special occasions too.

It would be nice if Communicore Hall meant they'd eliminate the World Showplace tent and use that for a new country (or even just a substantial ride for the UK, like a great Mary Poppins dark ride), but I don't see that happening.
You need enough flex space to use it to lure guests to spend money as well as set aside other flex space for private parties that you charge big bucks for.
There are still plenty of empty pads around World Showcase for new pavilions and/or rides before needing to raze existing structures.
Remember: don't replace, *add.* Right?

As much as I dislike them sowmtimes, I don't thinkwould be the worst choice for SSE. Isn’t a certain car manufacturer/rocket company rumored to be sponsoring something?
I know Kodak is in no position to sponsor i! again. Is Chiquita still sponsoring LwtL?
Tesla/Space X is not getting involved with Disney in any way, Disney does not desire to get involved with them either.

The World Showplace barely counts as an existing structure -- it was intended to be a temporary tent; not something that was going to stick around for decades.
But yes, they don't need it for a new country right now (or probably ever; I doubt they'll ever fill up the existing pads with new countries). I'd love to see them use it for a UK attraction, though.
I thought the overhead stage lights was supposed to be problematic?

Learning really fast tonight that the stage is not protected from the rain:
That's probably not a big deal, since most of the surrounding area isn't covered. People weren't going to be standing around in the rain to watch anyways.

Things like the Mill Stage in Canada are just as open at the front and sides. They have to deal with this at several locations.

There's no excuse to have such a big empty space. After all the years it took to finish this area?! They could have filled this building with some exhibits or interactive displays until the next festival comes along. At the very least I was expecting the large Figment figure from the concept art.
Doesn't the Disney Archive have a ton of stuff they could show here? Heck, they could use this space to display some old CommuniCore items and talk about the history of Epcot, or have a temporary exhibit of past Epcot attractions. I think that lots of people would love that.

In fact, they did a marvelous job of just that some years ago. That EPCOT isn't around anymore.

How big is the "empty space"? It looks to me like a relatively wide hallway as opposed to a huge room. Are there additional separate rooms there too where they can do other presentations or such during the festivals?
