And, yes, I know it is a flex space, but so what. “Oh, since it is a flex space it should not be themed or adorned when not being used?! Give me a break. They are using that as an excuse. Make it interesting…make it unique. That was cafeteria level theming. That is right up there with the coffee shop they put in the Boardwalk.

That's the thing. I just don't get why they didn't at least do something interesting with the interior. You almost have to work hard to make a space that bland. Even just leaving up the "World Celebration", etc. banners from the media event would have been much better. Can't they at least find some meaningful artwork to put in the space? A small exhibit of some sort? Anything?

Which... Let's offer a moment of silence for the cynicism Disney has to whomp up all that thematic frou-frou for a single media event, only to tear it all down before the plebes arrive the next morning.

It's kind of a double whammy... Not only is the space a husk, but Disney recognized it was enough of a husk to decorate it for their target marketing audience, and the target audience most definitely is not the guests paying to get in. (Natch...?!)

Why does Epcot need so many flex spaces? It already has World Showplace, the Odyssey, and I'm pretty sure it already had the "Rose Walk" lawn, and it also needs CommuniCore?

I can't think of even one place in the other three parks that's bare/lightly decorated and seemingly useless because it's set aside to occasionally have something in it.

I know the park has the rotating festivals, but those seemed to get along just fine while the walls were up, even with Showplace closed.

even as a flex space for event rentals, why was it not designed to be beautiful...do they feel it will only be rented for events if it looks like a Marriott convention space? Anyone using that space would definitely much prefer a unique and beautifully designed space as a backdrop...not fully relying on bringing in tons of decor for every use... It is a ridiculous ugly, unimaginitive space that should have never been approved in it's current state...I would say that about the whole building thos....seriously Boo Disney. FAIL!

Labor dollars... $$$$

It takes money to pay the CM's to remove all the stuff they put in to not make it bland between festivals. Takes more money to put it back at the end of festival.
Got to pay for the Disney+ costs somehow.

All Disney's decisions should be viewed though the money lens....

If the decision costs them money.... Not happening.

If the decision costs saves them money... Immediately green lighted.

The ground lights still haven’t been fixed, and one of the panels was missing which exposed the damage underneath.

The coffee shop may be simple but at least it's white and can correlate with a hotel setting there, whereas the inside of Communicore College Hall looks like a cardboard box was made and someone threw in wasted couches chairs sold at a garage sale.

It looks like they just stuck a addressable light strip in a diffuser and did no waterproofing what so ever which led to water puddling up inside the diffuser. I hope they're not this stupid and it's just some pressure washer who blasted the cap and caulk off.
