News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I'm guessing they didn't do the show often. And I guess some think a residential show (from 8 years ago) that completely blows away what Disney is doing at a theme park today is hideous. You really can only lead people to water but can't make them drink.
Something being technically impressive does not automatically mean it is tasteful or visually appealing.

I saw this area in person finally and it's just stunning, both in the daytime and at night. I just wish they could toss out the PhotoPass CMs clogging up the area and the annoying Jammitors who ruin the ambiance with their racket. This spot is a great place to sip on a beer and people watch. Call me Bob's Boussom Buddy, but what they are doing & have done at Epcot is absolutely remarkable.
“Absolutely remarkable” when considering the condition of Imagination, Wonders of Life, Spaceship Earth, Living Seas, no new country pavilion in over 35 years, etc., etc.

And this is the standards of the supposed “super fans”. No wonder we get what we deserve.

Wow, simply, wow.

Epcot was dead and dying. The investments they’ve made over the last couple years have made a park that was once the worst in Orlando into a must visit destination again. It’s not Disney’s or my concern that you’re stuck in 1982. The current state of Epcot is better than ever. Stay pressed and bitter sweetheart.

I guess I have to spell it out (not for you, because you understood the point, this for others): The technology to do something well beyond what Disney did at Epcot has existed for years and has been used in residential light displays.

If people think the minimal effort that Disney put into the lights at Epcot is impressive, please watch your step so you don't trip over that very, very low bar. Bob and Josh thank you for your continued support.

Better than 2018, sure, but better than ever? It's not even half the park it was in the early 1990s, just from a capacity/things to do standpoint.

Quality is subjective, of course, but at least for me, the stuff on offer then was light years beyond what's there now too.

Ah well. I’ll continue enjoying my visits while yall sit on here and whine about the good old days (that are vastly overrated and rose colored).

Well, that says it all right there.

Disney management appreciates your low standards and expectations!

How modern Disney fans supporting low standards and having low expectations are treated by Bob and Josh:

thank you sir.gif

What are you talking about?!

Who would want the entire Wonders of Life pavilion when you can have a planter?!

Absolutely remarkable!!!

Hey, haven’t you been on Spaceship Earth lately?!

Absolutely remarkable!!!

Well, not since I rode it in late September 2022. Have they replaced the ride system, refreshed a few scenes, added something worthwhile to the descent, brought in a new narrator (Not that I have a problem with Dame Judi, but it's time for a new voice), and gave us a script that doesn't pander to the dumbest members of society?

Well, no, they haven’t done any of that, but the current state of Epcot is better than ever!!!

I can't imagine choosing to go through life this way. Everyone else is automatically wrong and stupid if they don't 100% conform with my opinion. It's such an insanely close-minded way to experience the world; you're missing out on so much.

It's bizarre, too, because based on some of your other posts I know you're not one of them but it's what I'd expect to hear from people who love a certain political figure.

Plus, how could you even know if it's overrated if you didn't experience it?

There is a balance, though. Go and enjoy your visit with the full knowledge that EPCOT will no longer be the same anymore without wallowing in misery over it.

Well sure, if you don't still enjoy it there would be no reason to go at all. But I'm personally not wallowing in misery over it; other people here might be.

When have I ever wallowed in misery over it?
Sensitive, aren't we? I'm just making the point that you can still enjoy your visit. Many on this forum pine for the good old days and certainly give the impression they're completely miserable and will never be satisfied. I wish the Fountain of Nations were still there and would love to have Imagination 1.0 back but I put in the attitude of enjoying my trip this past week and that's what I did.
