People assumed October 1st because it's the date the company uses for a lot of things. Nothing was ever officially announced for it.

I believe the reports were that Walt was going to be installed on Oct 1st but out of Public Sight until December when World Celebration opens.

What’s up with these holes on the sides of the rectangular(?) planter near where the FoN used to be? I’ve been trying to figure those out since they started that planter and I just have no idea.

I wish they would just put a fountain here instead of a planter. I can't imagine anyone thinking a planter would be cooler than a fountain!

They appear on both this and the one in the center of the park, so it seems exclusive to the multi-tiered planters. I thought maybe something related to drainage as a result, but they seem to be niches that don’t open completely to the interior of the planter. Maybe integrated speakers or lighting? No idea, really.

Possibly the best thing done as part of the renovation of EPCOT?
Those coolers do not look comfortable to sit on.
I hope there is at least complementary Mickey Bars in them
