So you can pretty much catch a festival anytime you go. Nice.In 2018, there were 243 festival days. Percentage of the year with no festival days: 33% [One third of the year!]
In 2019, there were 247 festival days. Percentage of the year with no festival days: 32%
In 2020, there were 291 festival days. Percentage of the year with no festival days: 20% [Thanks to "A Touch of F&W starting mid-July]
In 2021, there were 331 festival days. Percentage of the year with no festival days: 9% [Garden went longer, Arts started earlier]
In 2022, there will be 326 festival days. Percentage of the year with no festival days: 11% [Basically one to two weeks of no festival days when one ends and the next begins]
Zach is full of corporate buzzwords, but in the end, it's a planter instead of a spectacular fountain that should be there, and would have "Activated" the center with sound and kinetic motion that a Planter Dislay will never equal. The lighted pavement will be the current LED non-neon rope we see other places, the controllable lights will be bollards and spotlights...I am sure it will look nice, but not groundbreaking... The sad thing is they could have "Activated" the other half of Communicore instead of tearing it down and losing the park symmetry. Parts of Journey Of Water could have been interior climate controlled environments.
I know we will never get back what was, but after years of construction, it doesn't seem worth it.
agree....but it really irks me that all he can do is talk about lighting, its like the lights on spaceship earth is all they have to talk about while the attraction itself gets no love at all and left to fall apart. 15 years now of hanging chicken wire and dust curtains in the descent, have you guys forgotten about show quality? They just simply dont care anymore as long as the drinks are flowing and cash flowing in. Well that's what I was trying to clarify. Those who don't follow this as closely as some might take that as what happened, namely, that as they tore down SW, they knew they were replacing it with a building with the same footprint. Is anyone actually claiming this, or just finding it funny/ironic that they tore down something that would've been perfectly usable for what is eventually going up in that spot?
Interesting. So the Montenui tent with the upspouts would represent the aeration of sewage in order to have aerobic bacteria break down the biowaste.I assume it is a closed loop recycling system that is only fed new water by rainfall... Fresh water is at a premium.
I guess we can agree to disagree as to if this layout looks more symmetrical compared to the toad stool design, but we can agree it's a good looking layout.View attachment 637292
Can I just say I like how they're emphasizing the NON-symmetrical "hard edges vs. soft edges" motif which was present in the walkways (east straight lines, west curvy lines) but will now be switched in the architecture.
This also reminds me of something... hmm...
@Epcot82Guy does it look like anything to you?
it is an activated seasonal display area with plants...Wait... Is the center piece all planter or is there any small fountain feature incorporated into it?
Is it just me or does this new fascination with expansive green spaces in announced designs (this, and DL’s Toontown) feel very much like the latest Urban Planning movement has taken hold within WDI?
But it’ll be switched, which doesn’t make much sense. Honestly I think it’s more a result of cheaper construction and of wanting to avoid embarrassment by having it look different enough.View attachment 637292

Urban Planning? What does E.P.C.O.T. have to do with Urban Planning?!Is it just me or does this new fascination with expansive green spaces in announced designs (this, and DL’s Toontown) feel very much like the latest Urban Planning movement has taken hold within WDI?
