Actually the significan technological changes that have happened in the world shold make updating the original pavilions even easier...there are more things to showcase...more ideas and more interesting ways to present them....the idea of Future World is completely relevant if you update it...Horizons was still dacades in the future ... we did not have any of that technology in place... Seabase Alpha still does not exist and was immersive and amazing storytelling, The Land really needed an update...and aside from Soarin' could still use some work... Imagination needs to go back to something closer to it's original with Dreamfinder and Figment, but with updated technology and effects...Energy could have been reimagined but still have been about energy, Wonders Of Life could have been easily updated with the Inside Out overhaul and a new signature attraction, Space just needs to be the complete pavilion they originally planned before it was scaled back, and Test Track is fine... Updated Communicore would be the only real challenge as it has lost it's way the most...
but Future World still works as a concept...

Bob Chapek did say "there are certain things in our portfolio that we will never touch because of what they are." I'd like to think Spaceship Earth is one of those. Regardless, it is good to see that he understand there's value in legacy and history.

This whole interview is interesting. While I'm not his #1 fan, I must admit I like some of his answers.

I don't trust Chappie any further than I can throw him.

Makes you wonder why it hasnt been done then. Maybe because you're incorrect.
I actually agree with him in some sense. It is stupidly simple how easy it would be to refresh the Imagination Pavilion. The solution is literally staring them in the face. Figment and Dreamfinder are massively popular characters that resonate with a wide range of people, and there are merch sales to prove it. For a company that loves to invest in nostalgia (Star Wars, live-action remakes), I am genuinely confused why there is so much hesitation in making the right decision.

They've had plans for 12 years now.

Don't forget the popularity of the Figment comics by Marvel which was very successful.

He's saying it's supposed to be on the extension that houses the bulk of the coaster. That makes no sense... it's supposed to be hidden, not a focus of guests' attention.

A show on the ball could be neat.

For a show on the 'gravity building' to be seen above the tree tops, it would have to be twice the height of RnRC's gravity building. And even then, it wouldn't be that wide or big. If the trees were removed, there still wouldn't be enough space for guests to get in between the UoE and the WoL pavilions to see the show.

Yeah, that would make no logistical sense whatsoever. A show projected onto Spaceship Earth is more likely, and appropriate.

perhaps it is going to be in the extension building. Image a roller coaster in the new Space Restaurant. Each wall with a projection or video screen. Might make it feel like you are actually coasting around space with the GotG.
