Big changes at the Studios Rumors

I like your idea, hell it doesn't HAVE to be Steven Tyler, it could be any other bunch of artists or bands. The Muppets tie in would be cool.

You can't make it "HANNA MONTANA'S SUPER 17 LIMO RIDE" or "JONAS BROTHERS BFF TOUR" or something, and then have a huge intense coaster as the main experience.

sure you can...you do it like this:

Miley Cyrus' Rockin' Roller coaster starring the Jonas brothers with Demi Lovato!

See how easy that was...

Anyhow, everything in this thread would have been considered normal plussing not that long ago, barely warranting a mention let alone being misunderstood as a big summer draw.

I couldn't agree more. I think we should just be happy that a couple rides in a park that only has a half dozen rides anyway are getting some little tweaks and maintenance.

I love Rockin' Roller Coaster, but I'm trying to think what Aerosmith mention there is beyond the pre-show film and the onboard music. It would seem to me they could remove the film and audio software overnight, install a new generic pre-show "band" and new audio, test it for a couple days and reopen with Aerosmith gone. What other mentions of Aerosmith are there on that coaster, besides prying off the "Starring AEROSMITH" letters off the guitar out front?

OH NO! I would like Ruby and the Rockits (yeah canceled from ABC Family) but if it was The Muppets, +Queen...

Hey Hollywood Records still has a contract with Queen!

Muppet Bohemian Rhapsody anyone?

Aerosmith is the soul of RnRC. I think It'd be a huge mistake to go with a generic band.

Aerosmith just appeals to all ages!

mouse planet way to be cheap disney (golf clap)

Quick takes …

…If you haven't yet had the opportunity to see the Luxo Jr. animatronic perform across from Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you're out of luck. It appears that the animatronic has been retired, and there are no current plans to bring him back.

I am actually very intrigued by a new version of the queue for RNRC. I usually always FP this attraction or Single ride it, but the Single Ride line was down that day and I don't remember why I didn't FP it...so...the last time I waited in the standby queue (which was this January) the line CRAWLED!!! What made it go even slower was the fact that there really is nothing to entertain you in the queue for the ride. There's nothing exciting to look at, at all besides Tower.

I'll be very happy to see what new improvements they come up with for queuing up for this attraction, as anything should be better than what's currently there to keep you occupied...which is nothing.

While the news coming out about the Studios stuff isn't necessary as big as it was made out to be in the OP...it is interesting, nonetheless, to get confirmation about some rumors I'd been hearing.

STrictly the opinion of one who runs their own business...If I was up against something as major as HP, I wouldn't hit it head on...I would, during the initial opening period of it, like the first six months, just keep making little announcements of things, nothing major, then I would start bringing out the big guns...Star Wars 3d, new ride in FL...all of which of course we already know, but not majorly publicized yet...and a couple of 'biggies'...but I wouldn't be announcing those now, because I would know that there was no way to compete with that in the moment. It's more of a stealth marketing tactic that would be followed. We'll see if I'm right, remember this is just opinion with no back-up. So keep the flames low temp

What would they do, digitally reinsert Freddy Mercury? Because Queen is not Queen without Mr. Mercury.

depends on how long it takes for prep work.... theoretically they could change most of the ride over the a generic theme if they wanted to.
but have you ever watched on travel channel when they did a thing on disney world and they were talking about the ride, they said it took forever just to get the music down for the ride because of all the syncing and everything. and honestly i don't think they are just gonna get rid of aerosmith i mean seriously, why would you get rid of a big band for some stupid generic theme?

It's all digital nowadays. At Disneyland they swapped out the Red Hot Chili Peppers in place the regular onboard audio for both Rockin' Space Mountain and Rockin' California Sreamin' in a couple of days. And this past October the switch from Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy to regular Space Mountain took one day.

You can map out the ride on a computer and program it to the track digitally. The switch would take a few hours of hardware work first, and then theoretically it could be changed with a few strokes of a keyboard or the flip of a switch in the control tower.

I have no idea if this rumor about removing Aerosmith from the ride is true or not. But I would think with work done in advance on the new digital projection pre-show film and onboard audio, the biggest hassle would be getting a couple guys to chisel off and repaint the guitar marquee that says "starring AEROSMITH" out in front of the ride.

Well Miley Cyrus' contract with disney is up when she turns 18 which is august sooo, that just leaves jonas, demi, and selina, and of those only jonas is recongized enough, but aren't they as a group on a break? Not that I want any of them in rnrc. Plus if aerosmith left they'd have to change wdw, and dlp (I think those are the only two that have that ride).

Correction, she turns 18 in November. I have the same birthday as her. **sigh**:(

If Aerosmith leaves and Disney replaces it with their own band aimed at 13-16 year old girls, they will have made a worse mistake than SGE. HANDS DOWN. TDO is stupid, but they can't be that stupid.

I really think you under estimate the ability of TDO to surprisingly disappoint.

Oh the joy of watching little kids get upset when they're not old enough to ride their favorite bands ride... Oh wait, are you suggesting people over the age of 6 like Miley Lovato Jonas?

My daughter is 8...Loves all of the Disney groups/bands/singers - and loves RNRC...

Now my 12 year old son...he's another story...he'd hate it!

I agree, though I do not own a business I have worked at various retail jobs and have taken multiple business classes so i kinda get the idea. If harry were to cause minimum to major impact, I'm sure like with IOA they have something or something's big on the table. Imagineers are always drawing and coming up with new things. If money wasn't an issue they would probably be putting a new E ticket ride every month! But I do believe they are just waiting it out and giving some small to medium things here and there. Hopefully something big soon! I like to stay optimistic but there is alot of negativity on these boards alot.
