They could honestly have one at all four parks, just focused on different things so they're not repetitive (e.g. you'd only draw animals at DAK). It's a pretty easy way to add attraction capacity.
Do you actually think that would be a great draw? (pun intended but its a serious question.)

I mean am not looking to spend 10K on a week long trip to WDW, to spend time sitting around watching my kids draw. Nor would my kids be all that interested in doing so. Most schools around us have graphic design, animation, CGI type courses starting at the end of elementary school. There are tons of free online drawing type offerings for kids and adults into such things.

It could be personal preference to be sure, but once animation went digital, and between lap tops and iphones movie making/animation has become demystified and not all that special. If my kid can do it on their ipad at home, I don't see the big draw to doing it on vacation.

Don't underestimate the novelty of the branding. Look at the games at major theme parks and arcades being busy. It does not need to have a line, just to take a few hundred people off of their feet and out of other areas a day.

People love the idea of getting the lesson from a sanctioned Disney Artist and taking something they were taught to do and take home with them. A a low cost of under 100 dollars an hour to operate the entire thing.

People go do it and know they have to take a train in to a quiet corner of the park to do it. Clearly it sells.

The one at DAK was completely full both times I did it, and that was at less busy times of the year. With plenty of adults, too -- it's not specifically for kids.

Regardless, the point isn't to be a major draw. It's to give people something else to do, which the parks desperately need. Why not go in and draw a character for 15-20 minutes? It's pretty fun.

The parks need more stuff like that, especially when it doesn't take up a ton of space or require much maintenance.

Looking at it as a niche market upsell, sort of like a droid or lightsaber making offering, I could see it. Actually I really could see it. I don't think its something that is going to take all that many bodies off the map, and I don't know if you would need one for every park, but i could see it being a decent offering.

And now i hear Disney is ordering new Phineas and Ferb episodes, its a sign. I am on board.

Well the main benefit over the Droid and Saber building is that, these have always been included with park admission. It lasted at MGM and DCA for decades.

It could be something really special if it were led by real Disney animation artists.

You understand this already exists at WDW and has been drawing people every day for years, right? It's not something people are suggesting as a new offering.

It's just that it could easily be expanded to offer a unique version at all four parks as another thing people could do.

And they've done it at the Oddesy various years during the festival of the arts - possibly, they're doing it this year there, too.

Also it's important to note that it's never been some ridiculous up-sell.

I know you're not the one suggesting it should/could be.

Building more E tickets would be fine if they were along the lines of Spaceship Earth -- i.e. long attractions with very high capacity.
The problem is the cost which, even when reasonable, would demand a more direct return on the investment. The reason for smaller scale attractions is to have the lower cost that can be justified without surveys of people saying it is the reason for their visit.

Oh sure, I get that.

But Disney can't seem to build a smaller scale attraction without spending $100+ million now.

Disney needs to begin groundbreaking on another attraction soon. Animal Kingdom needs it more than the other parks (actually, out of all the parks, MK is the only one that DOENST need a major renovation). I’ve heard lots of rumors about a new Pandora attraction (perhaps something smaller will be put in the plot earmarked for Moana). The worst part is it takes them so long to build anything. Tron has been 7 years!

Y'know, I think I'm actually coming around to the Encanto/Coco land behind Big Thunder Mountain idea, so long as it's its own land and not part of Frontierland.

If it keeps them from shoehorning Encanto into Animal Kingdom like everyone's suggested they do, I'm all for it.

The villains land idea still sounds kind of stupid to me, though...

agree, they did do this somewhat at the festival of the arts and they used to have this at the Disney institute.
