"Desertland" seriously sounds like the braindead ramblings of someone without a basic understanding of biomes. I also don't know why you'd bother with that when this already seems to be shaping up so organically around the Rivers of America:

I think the real problem with "Desertland" is that people who can't spell will be expecting "Dessertland" and will be wondering where to find Sugar Rush and every cupcake they've ever seen in Instagram. 😉

Gonna spit out a hot take and say that if they're pushing for a Cars ride in the Magic Kingdom (as ill-fitting as it seems), the most ideal thing to do would be to essentially move the Speedway out of Tomorrowland and make it a dark ride with still drivable, electric four-seater cars.

It would be "lesser" than Radiator Springs Racers, but let's not forget that an IP getting an E-ticket in one resort and a C/D-ticket in another/others has happened before, Winnie the Pooh (Hunny Hunt > Many Adventures) and Frozen (Frozen Journey > Frozen Ever After) being two such instances. And cloning RSR would rob California Adventure of a major draw, something that it has benefitted from for more than a decade even after being taken back a square (and something I'd argue every park, even the MK, needs at least one of)

You know what's funny?
Got this from the new imagineering YouTube series. Looks like a RSR model on the same table as Cinderella Castle. I can’t make out any of the other buildings though. Could be nothing. Could be something.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that I think Cars isn’t an option anymore and is just a purposeful, internal leak. We’ve seen this show before.

That being said: this is the last true substantial expansion plot the Magic Kingdom has. They have to knock this out of the park. I don’t see Cars fitting the bill.

An attraction based on Cars (a terrible film franchise) just doesn't excite me as much as an attraction based on Coco, which is without a doubt one of the best films Pixar as ever done. Regardless, it's quite thrilling to hear the rumor mill churring again for all the parks.
Cars is popular with families. And its representation in the biggest vacation destination in the world is very small. They need something with cars. Little me would’ve loved it

So..... as has been "revealed" on a certain YouTube channel with the initials MV, Radiator Springs racers is to be placed beyond Big Thunder. If true this seems like a completely misguided placement for an attraction that also negates the possibility of a full cars land elsewhere at WDW and a maintenance and downtime nightmare as has been at DCA

Phew! That’s much better than Springfield or Zootopia!

I haven't even seen Zootopia. I didn't even at first realize it's a Disney movie.

Springfield if it ever happens needs to be at the studios. It's too adult oriented to be at Magic Kingdom.

Or what if they put Simpsons in Epcot and make that Duff Beer around the world ride that possesses Lisa replace the Mexico boat ride 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

Cars is pretty lame & an easy way out. Out of anything we've seen previously, this would be the most underwhelming. I don't need a Test Track clone and enjoy the exclusivity of Carsland in DCA. NEXT!...

Yea I think Cars would be a pretty natural choice (and it’s by no means one of my personal favorite IPs) for a few reasons:
- BTMR will loom large over whatever goes next to it, so it needs to be something with a similar aesthetic
- If Villians is BBTM phase 2, it makes sense to choose something light and kid-friendly for phase 1, to keep the area (and the park as a whole) balanced
- Tiana (and potentially Moana) additions feature IPs that appeal more to girls, so again, Cars would provide a nice counter-balance
- None of the ride systems used for the 3 Carsland attractions are currently employed at MK, so it would add some unique offerings to the park (this point stands whether the addition is just RSR or all 3)
- Cars sells a ton of merch, yet has a lesser presence at WDW than most of the other top-selling Disney-owned IPs
- A land/ride themed to a town on Route 66 definitely plays into the park’s larger Americana theme
