I guess they wanted to announce it before @danlb_2000 does!!

Worth noting that the permit area as outlined is for water management, not necessarily active construction.

With that said, I can't see them wanting to relocate all the parade barn, shop, and Imagination Campus facilities - and potentially the canal itself - for what's being proposed.

I do expect action here - and further south - but not exactly the way it's been presented.

That’s definitely cherny but at Maleficent’s Castle? None of this art probably matters now, but looking at what’s presented that’s what I see. Not sure what the thorn looking forest is on the bottom. Maybe it’s maleficent thorns. The right side also looks like a barren desert with tusks coming out elephant graveyard?

West of Frontierland? The area abve the RoA is more north, so now I'm wondering exactly how this is expected to work.

Quick thought: if they are doing work west of the current Frontierland, I wonder if they might replace the current parade storage area and use that for guest stuff (a proper New Orleans Square?) and then store and start parades more west than now?

I would guess moving waterways. They had a similar amount of work ahead of Cosmic Rewind.

Not saying it’s directly tied to this permit since I haven’t seen it yet but there has been strong rumors in the past of Disney building another hotel between the Grand Floridian and MK. So some of this water management might encompass both projects if it’s that large and they decided to move forward with that as well.

Exactly. There is a lot of work required to make the land usable for park expansion, so I presume it will be awhile before we get concrete details on attractions. DAK will be a focus at D23 this yea since that work begins soon.

Maybe Reflections gets reborn with a skyliner to a 2nd MK entrance.

A little more information via Robert Niles from the media event at Walt Disney Imagineering.

A graphic shown by Iger showed a work area that spans both the waterway connecting the Rivers of America with the Seven Seas Lagoon as well as Floridian Place, north of Maple Road."

I wouldn’t be surprised though to see more concrete details in beyond. A one two punch would be great for them and press. Maybe it doesn’t have to be exact details on attractions but something I think may come.

If they ever did put a resort in that plot, it would be interesting to see if they try to connect it to MK directly with it's own entrance.
