Wasn’t it already clear there wouldn’t be a NEW ride until then? Indy could open sooner if they commit to it…In other words, don’t expect any new ride to open after Moana until 2028?

It’s just shocking they plan to wait until next summer to start on a new project.Wasn’t it already clear there wouldn’t be a NEW ride until then? Indy could open sooner if they commit to it…
They need one more D23 expo cycle to let us know what they‘re “thinking” before committing. I’m sure they are hard at work on drawings of the City of Rosas in DAK.It’s just shocking they plan to wait until next summer to start on a new project.
They couldn't have afforded new rides up until pretty much now. They were down to just $4B in free cash while still doing the Epcot refresh, Epcot fireworks version 10, TBA, and all the capex being dumped into the international parks with their new mini-lands. (Not to mention buying new DCL ships and island.)It’s just shocking they plan to wait until next summer to start on a new project.
It's my hot take that it just doesn't look very interesting...I have always said Zootopia doesn't belong in Animal Kingdom, but my hot take is that is belongs there more than at Magic Kingdom.
Honestly I have to agree. I enjoyed the movie but wasn't overly "wowed" by it. I certainly have no desire to experience the move in real life. And the attraction itself just seems like the greatest hits of Rise + MMRR + Remy. It's my hot take that it just doesn't look very interesting...
Not sure I've had that stance for really any majorish theme park addition.
Atlantis is one movie that if done right I’d actually want a live action remake of. It could do really well switching mediums I think.Don't give up hope. Adjusted for inflation, Atlantis wasn't that far off from princess and the frog. And that got to take over splash. So there's always a chance for it to take over space or thunder mountain.
Should’ve been an Indiana Jones film drawn from the video games rather than the last two we gotAtlantis is one movie that if done right I’d actually want a live action remake of. It could do really well switching mediums I think.
I honestly agree. Plus the rockwork would look less out of place next to Big Thunder Mountain. This doesn't fit either, but I would rather Cars Land over Zootopia, if it has to be some "already built land cloned here"
I agree with this too. With this rumor it's starting to feel like Disney is using WDW as the place to be able to dump popular things from the overseas parks so American visitors have an easier way to enjoy them. I'm not totally against this, but I wish it would be things like the Pirates ride at Shanghai or Mystic Manor. Not the Zootopia land that takes up so much space and has a ride that looks like a mashup of rides we have here already.
Why must it be single-IP minilands? Just build a fleshed out villain land…
I feel like they have a track record of announcing something bold like this and only building the early phase. I’d hate to end up with Moana and that Zootopia ride and have that be it.The beyond thunder mountain area certainly has space to fit more than one "land" if WDW wanted. I'd agree that a very large Villains land would be good, but if they are determined to add more than just that... I'd favor doing a Villains land on the eastern park (closest to HM and Fantasyland) while if you have to put an unrelated/new thing in the east I'd prefer something based on ancient Greece/Rome with a ride based on Hercules and other mythological ideas (e.g ride about the Odyssey, Trojan War, myths in general) which fits into the "vibe" of MK better.
I'd also add New Orleans elements on the far side of the railroad station (i.e. Tiana restaurant, appropriate buildings/shopping)
If they really want Moana, put her in Adventureland (or create a seperate Oceania land in DAK)
If they want to bring Cars or Zootopia to WDW, put them in DHS.
Egg Roll cart(but expanded) should go here with a little rest area. Similar to tropical hideaway at DLI'm sure its far better than the other sit downs... but is it popular? Seems like it always has availability and I can't imagine they're happy with that. It's a prime location and I really want them to give the egg roll cart a proper location with seating.
Absolutely. And the Zootopia ride has no height requirement, which is great for DHS. 3 rides with that ride system are the only concern. I’d rather a boat ride.and wouldn't the modern whimsical city setting of Zootopia fit better into a "Backlot" area of DHS? Where there would be no concern of it sticking out like a sore thumb...Seems like that would be the place where it would fit the best...
My vote would be extend the Muppet's mini-land into the parking lot, adding a Muppets dark ride, and either placing the Zootopia mini-land behind Star Tours or behind Rise.and wouldn't the modern whimsical city setting of Zootopia fit better into a "Backlot" area of DHS?
