Best show scene at WDW?

I'm surprised! Nobody has mentioned the (working) Yeti scene yet!
That would be my all-time favorite show scene.

But since it's not working, here's my list:

5. Splash - Laughing Place: I love the blacklight effect, the buzzing bees, the water effects, the cooky song, it's pure craziness! In a good way, though.
4. Splash - Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da finale: I love the energy and the hidden mickey in that scene! Classic!
3. TGMR - The Wizard of Oz: It's a very grand scene with Munchkins and those funny looking houses surrounding you.
2. HM - The Graveyard: Very fun! Everything in this scene is very fun to look at and listen to. Especially the singing busts.
1. HM - Ballroom: Very haunting, eerie, and very very cool! I love the organ music, it adds a very dark setting to the room, but at the same time, it has that quirkyness to it. I love the Pepper's Ghost Effect as well.

My #1 scene in all of WDW would be the top of SSE "This...Our Spaceship Earth"

I have to agree.

Perhaps, because it's the conclusion of my favorite ride at Disney World, or maybe just because I know I'm at the top of the "Ball".
But there's no other show scene at WDW that takes away my breath every single time like this one.

Great thread idea.

2. I might actually go with the Gangster Shootout of Great Movie Ride, for its sheer drama

That was one of the first scenes that popped into my head also. Although I’d have to say the cowboy scene that follows it is better due to the exploding bank, if you’re lucky enough to get it.

Aagh, I actually was lucky enough to get that scene once, and you're right, the exploding bank may help it take the cake. Both are good.

- The Haunted Mansion ballroom scene and graveyard scene
- Tower of Terror's corridor scene (disappearing hallway)
- Alien in Great Movie Ride

I guess I'm a fan of creepy scenes.
These, plus the scene on POTC with the lone skeleton at the wheel of a derelict pirate ship as well as "Dead Man's Cove"

I do love the lone skeleton on the ship with the thunderstorm going on. Great scene, I guess I kind of factored this part in with the cannon fight that I chose for best scene. In fact the first 2 minutes of pirates is a lot better than the last 8.

I will limit myself to 10 and I will try not to repeat rides:

HM - Graveyard (It beats the ballroom because of Grim Grinning Ghosts)
SM - Zip a Dee Doo Dah/Steamboat Scene
SSE - Renaissance Segment
PPF - Flight over London
UOE - Brontosaurus Scene
ToT - 5th Dimension
JC - Temple
PoC - Ship Battle
BTMRR - From the beginning of the ride to the top of the 1st lift
Dinosaur - Final encounter with the Carnotaurus

I'm going to take a bit of liberty with what qualifies as a show scene. :)

There are so many, I have to do a 'top 10' list, but in no particular order.

- Living with the Land: Thunderstorm
- Tower of Terror: 5th Dimension
- Splash Mountain: Laughing Place
- Kilimanjaro Safaris: Savannah
- Festival of the Lion King: Be Prepared
- Haunted Mansion: Graveyard
- Expedition Everest: Beginning...past the tea, looking up at the mountain and waterfall, under the trestle bridge, and turning that corner to the lift hill
- Rock 'n Roller Coaster: Parking garage (load area)
- Illuminations: Act 2 ('Order')
- Space Ship Earth: Renaissance

Ok I Just returned from Hollywood Studios. We went out there before we had work to take advantage of the extremely low crowd levels. Anyway I rode Tower of Terror for the first time in atleast 2 years (me and my girlfriends least favorite park) and I have to say the 5th dimension scene has to be in the top 3 best show scenes in all of WDW. In fact I'll put that ride in the top 3 in WDW. I forgot how amazing that attraction is. Out of all the rides in WDW it has to be the best ride created by WDI.

The "Hopper" scene in ITTBAB. "Bug spray" fog, hornets, and black windows. There is no scene that causes more shrieking, laughing, and crying.

Forgot to mention I once again didn't get a chance to ride Toy Story Mania. One of these days I'm waking up at 730 and getting out there for rope drop and I'm going to ride it over and over until I'm sick of it. Lol.

Good topic! Very difficult one, though.

It's hard to argue with a lot of the suggestions already put forth, so I'll just agree with most of them. My top 3 would consist of (in no particular order) the ballroom scene in HM (mostly because I can always find something new everytime I ride), the 5th dimension scene in ToT, and the laughing place scene on Splash Mountain (when everything is working properly).

If we're allowed to pick extinct attractions, I'd have to add a scene from the original Journey Into Imagination to the list.

For me it would also be the 5th dimension scene (I was completely in awe the first time. I had no idea an elevator could ever possibly move forward!), the ballroom scene in Haunted Mansion is EPIC and while not a ride... I would count the first 30 seconds of RoE some of the most gripping 30 seconds of my life. I remember seeing it for the first time as a 14 year old kid, I just couldn't muster up words. Really surprised me in how well everything 'fit' and synched.

Not trying to resurrect this thread or anything, but I was going through it again and I have to say these are spot on IMO. But the farm house scene in living with the land is damn good and it deserves mentioning as well as the rain forest show scene in it.

That truly is an excellent list and I hereby declare BrerFrog master connaisseur of all things Disney.

LwtL belongs in any top ten list. I've been picking my mind, but I can't decide which particular scene I find the single best one. It is deserving of a topic of its own - with poll!

Me, I might choose the American prairie, those bison and the prairiedogs and the fire in the distance! Perfect. So atmospheric and exotic! (I'm non-American, so it's exotic to me! ;))
