Silly answer, but the Backlot Express. It's become somewhat of a fixture to eat there every trip for our party, even though the food is just standard quick-service. We just love the combination of movie props and makeshift building- a small theming element that makes a big difference.
Hollywood and Vine's a good deal (and the Fantasmic! preferred seating). The food was pretty good too:slurp: Sci Fi is very cool, but the food is :hurl: and expensive (even for Disney). My personal favorite is a turkey leg and a beer on our way to TOT:lol:
Brown Derby by far. I had the Kurabota pork belly appetizer, New York strip and for desert the White Chocolate Cheesecake. Not the finest fine dining i've ever had but pretty nice for a theme park resturant. It was my girlfriend's birthday and she wanted to try their legendary Grapefruit cake (a hollywood original along with the cobb salad). She loved the cake and the service was the best we've had in any park.
I haven't tried Sci-Fi but it does look cool inside (we stepped in for a sec after the Derby). Very underwelmed by the Prime Time cafe's food, though the theme and service was fun.
We like Mama Melrose the best--and believe me it is just a step above Olive Garden. Brown Derby did not impress us at all (terrible service and fatty steak and my husband HATED the grapefruit cake); Hollywood & Vine we will never step foot in again after two really bad experiences; Prime Time and Sci Fi are okay...we got tired of them after going with the kids when they were little all the time. So that leaves Mama Melrose or we go to the Boardwalk.
For some reason, we actually like Hollywood and Vine. Don't know why, but we do. It's not the best food or anything, we just like it. My husband really likes their meatballs, and I like the corn spoonbread and the salads.
We also had a pleasant experience at Pizza Planet on this past trip. I don't think Disney is going to win any awards for its pizza, but it wasn't bad.
I don't love any of them, but I have to go with Mama Melrose, even though I can get better Italian in my neighborhood. We try and avoid eating at the DHS if we can.
I just remembered that last trip I tried a sandwich at the Starring Rolls Bakery which I loved! That's where we're going next trip- I got a turkey sandwich with something on it (unfort, I don't remember what) but it was SO good.
I can't believe I forgot that!:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:
50's Prime has good home cooked type food. The roast is excellant. We also ate at Toy Story for CS and it was the worst dried out Pizza in the whole Kingdom. We ate at Sci Fi and the Angus Burgers are the best but anything else is lacking. It's one of our favorite parks in Dec it is so decorative and quaint.
