I am heading back to WDW in August and bringing along my DSiL and family (their 1st visit). Her daughter will turn 6 during the trip and we want to do a character meal to celebrate (Princesses of course). My SiL is suggesting CRT but I have seen so many negative reviews of the food and overall value of the experience.
So, for all of you, would you choose CRT, 1900 PF or Askershus?:veryconfu

Thanks!!

We've taken our daughters to CRT and twice to Akershaus.

Both are absolutely MAGICAL experiences. Nothing beats seeing the faces on the girls as the entered CRT!! I will say that Akershaus seems a little less "formal", the princesses seemed to spend a little more time with the tables there.

The food is fine at either place but I would rate Akershaus a little better. Besides you're not going for the food, :).

Your daughter will LOVE either place. In our experiences the Princesses themselves were AMAZING.

They're all good, but Akershus is better as far as Princesses; theres more. They all come by your table and take pics and talk to the girls.

I think the overall experience at CRT makes this my favorite. I have nothing but good things to say about all 3 of these princess meals though. I was pleasantly surprised with Akerhaus - but only for bfast as I did not like the food at dinner at all. And one of the best character experiences was at 1900 Park - the step sisters are out of this world. So I would recommend all three of these experiences but my fave would have to be CRT.

The food at CRT is definitely not the draw - it's the princesses. And now in addition to Cinderella downstairs, they have Snow White, Belle, Aurora & Ariel at dinner circulating thru the tables. The adult food was definitely below par and our server was a bit scattered - but the kids meals and the kids overall experience was magical. They talk all the time about how after the Hoop Dee Doo it's their favorite restaurant (which, I guess, means I'm going back :hammer:)

We love CRT...we think it is pretty good breakfast food. That being said, we really are not there for the food as much as the interaction with the princesses. They have spent plenty of time with our daughters on all of our visits. They spent time chatting, signing autographs and posing for pictures. Plus you can't beat actually being inside Cinderella's Castle!!

Haven't done 1900 PF yet, will this March so I don't have an opinion. We did CRT for lunch and food was ok. For lunch you take a pic with Cindy then up to your table. After a little wait the fairy godmother and some of the mice show up. They did a dance and the fairy godmother was entertaining but that was it. Not a lot of interaction with characters which was no big deal. I guess we need to try it for supper. Askershus on the other hand was great. The food was breakfast and it was ok also, but the princesses were AWESOME. The pic at the top left is from that day. My daughter still talks about that day. I don't think any will be a bad choice as for the two we did, both were magical.

We love CRT, but we were not impressed with the food and lunch and dinner. I used to like lunch, but they changed the menu and took off the yummy sandwich I would always get. However, we think the breakfast food is very good.

We have only done the breakfast at Akershus and we thought the food was good...no better or worse than the breakfast at CRT. The lunch/dinner menu at Akershus does not appeal to us.

Character interaction for us has been about the same at both places.

So for me, it comes down to atmosphere, and you just can't beat the castle for that. For a 6 year old girl's first visit to WDW, I feel like you just HAVE to eat in the castle! I would suggest an early breakfast so you can get into the park before opening and enjoy walking down an uncrowded Main Street. It also provides some fantastic photo opportunities.

By far we liked 1900 park fair the best. The food was the best of the 3 and the interaction was the best as well. Akershus was just so so average and for the money wasnt worth it. The interaction with the characters was very rushed both times we went. CRT just wasnt worth the money for us, aside from dining in the castle its just kind of ho-hum.

We've eaten dinner @ CRT for the past 2 years, and breakfast @ Akershaus for the past 3 years.

We personally think the food at both is fantastic, but we are on the dining plan and not exactly paying out of pocket during the meal. I know CRT is pretty high priced.

Princess interaction at Akershaus for first two years was amazing, last year just normal. CRT character interaction in 2010 included the princesses and was what I describe as normal.

Tip is included @ CRT, and both include a picture package.

Can't go wrong either place & both are must-do's for us every year now!

we've done crt for bfst, lunch, and dinner each once; askerus (spelling? lol sorry) once for bfst, and 1900 park fare once for dinner. with the exception of actually being in the castle itself crt and askerus are pretty much the same experience. i think it's a bucket list thing for any disney fan to eat in the castle at least once. i will say the group of princesses we had at askerus were a little wider in variety but they rotate so you never know who is going to be there. if you want your "free" pic with belle do askerus if you want it with cinderella do crt. we hands down had the best character experience at 1900 but you have to be a cinderella fan. if you're looking for the other princesses then it wouldn't be for you. the step sisters were soooooooo hysterical they made our trip. i didn't like the dinner food at crt, bfst was only ok, lunch was good but the menu has changed. askerus bfst was good, 1900 dinner buffet was only ok but again we've NEVER laughed so hard over dinner.

I swapped out dinner at 1900PF this last trip (vs the dinner I orig booked)- so, I can't give an opinion on that. We did do lunch at both CRT and Akershus. I liked the food better at CRT, DH liked the food better at Akershus. At least when we went- we met the same number of princesses at each meal (Cindy, Ariel, Jasmine, blue dress Belle, Aurora at CRT - and - yellow dress Belle, Cindy, Snow White, Ariel, and Aurora at Akershus). The princess meet and greets were fairly similar at both meals, except the photo meeting with Cindy at CRT was FAR BETTER than the photo meet and greet with Belle at Akershus. Of course, this all comes down to the CM playing the character that day. The princess parade/processional at Akershus was MUCH better than the wishing ceremony at CRT; however, the parade/processional was ONLY a big hit for us b/c CInderella was at Akershus that day and she asked my girls to help lead her section with her. As far as things included, the pictures were about the same quality- and while you get two separate shots at Akershus vs. one at CRT- I still prefer our CRT pic b/c Cindy was better than Belle this time around. The girls got stickers from Belle, but the wands and wishing stars from CRT were a longer term hit. i.e. the stickers are long gone, but two months later- those wands come out for play time a couple times per week. Service was decent at both (although the girls preferred the royal treatment at CRT), but the wait was much shorter and better managed at CRT. And finally- setting...Akershus is pretty and all, but it's not the castle. Being inside the castle makes CRT the clear winner for us.

we saw the same princesses at crt but at our breakfast at askerus we saw belle (in her holiday dress as it was christmas time), aurora, jasmine, mulan, and mary poppins so it can vary. i think if you want to see the standard/really popular princesses (ariel, cindy, snow white, aurora, belle) your best bet is crt.
