Best Holiday Theming: Moderate Resorts

We are considering upgrading our reservations from Pop Century to one of the moderate resorts for our Christmas trip.

In terms of Christmas decorations alone, should we do this? I've heard Pop Century has some cool (gaudy) decorations. Do any of the moderate resorts decorate for Christmas to a degree that makes them stand out from the others (and Pop)?

Okay, since it now seems unlikely that anyone has stayed at all four (or five, including Pop) resorts at Christmas, could those of you who have stayed at any of the five resorts over the Holidays comment on the level of 'Holiday Spirit' the particular resort(s) exuded? Thanks!

I can comment on Pop at Christmas. They had a very nice tree in the lobby. They also had a Mr. Potato Head tree in the gift shop. Those are the main decorations I remember, though there were probably some other smaller items that I'm just not remembering. The theming certainly didn't comare with the ones we saw when we visited the deluxe resorts though. I can't comment on the decorations at the moderates because we didn't visit any of those on our trips.

I've stayed at the Caribbean, Port Orleans (Riverside and French Quarter), and Coronado Springs during Christmastime and for me, Riverside stands out the best as far as decorations go. It just seemed a lot more Christmasy to me for some reason.

POFQ was my favorite but they're all beautiful.

Slightly OT, but when do Christmas decorations usually go up? I searched the forum and didn't find anything... I assumed it was during Thanksgiving but does anyone know? My friends have never seen WDW during the Holidays but we're having a hard time scheduling a day trip and it'd be great if anyone knew. Thanks!

POR seems to be the favorite thus far. I've never been inside, does anyone have pics? I'm curious to see what Christmas "Down by the River" is like!

Coronado was nice, but it seemed like a more traditional setup as opposed to some of the really nice fanciful things they have set up around property. I can't speak for the other mods though since I didn't get a chance to see them unfortunately.
