Beginnings of Tomorrowland Revamp?

I don't get how Starbucks & Jofferys are both okay with coexsisiting in the parks

All of the regular filter coffee served in every restaurant is Joffrey's so they actually have the bigger overall contract, its just that most of their coffee is sold by "Disney" outlets rather than in a Joffrey's branded cup.

Fun fact (pretty sure everybody knows this.) but that ship is the ship from flight of the navigator.

There used to be a second, identical ship on the Backlot Tour too

Photo update as of Sunday, Feb. 12. Several on-going projects in Tomorrowland.

An external refurbishment at the end of Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café is taking place behind this construction wall. This wall surrounds the windows behind the Cosmic Ray stage. The Cosmic Ray show is still open and performing inside.

The spaceship on top of the Cool Scanner is being refurbished. The red paint has been sanded down in preparation for a new paint job. The Cool Ship kiosk attached next to it is still open.

A new food/beverage kiosk is being built behind the construction wall that has been in place for over a month. This location is to the left of the Tomorrowland stage. There are many "attachment points" on the roof, which will probably support a vertical structure like many of the Tomorrowland kiosks.

I was wondering what the new round building was. Thanks!

@carouselof says that Tomorrowland plans have been put on pause until things are "set in stone". Carousel of Progress won't receive the refurbishment until Stitch's Great Escape is replaced. Apparently.
I know you are repeating what he said, but what does one have to with the other? Money?

That's a good question. I'd assume it would have to be a capacity issue? They might not want two attractions down in that area of the park. Especially since Carousel of Progress is a people eater. That's just my guess.

Photo update as of Monday, Feb. 20. The top structure has been placed on the new food/beverage kiosk being built to the left of the Tomorrowland stage. It has a 1970's Tomorrowland look / design. Much more work to be done inside.

That's brilliant. Looks just like the original 70's Tomorrowland attraction signs.

If that's going to be the theme of a new Tomorrowland, I love it. Rather than constantly trying to keep it futuristic (which Future World can do!), make it a charming retro Tomorrowland.

Now, the next step is having them retheme the dance party stage to the way it looked in the 70s too...cough cough.

Get rid of that dance party stage! It's just awful and a huge eyesore! I don't know which I hate more, the tomorrowland stage or the DJ in Asia at animal kingdom.

I hope the architectural nod to Tomorrowland's aesthetic past is an indication of the direction they are looking to take the land's overall look, feel, and concept.

But how far are they willing to go in that direction? Would they really ditch all that was put into the look of Tomorrowland '94, or are they just going to paint everything blue, silver and orange?

The last thing I want is a hodge podge of aesthetics. That's what Tomorrowland in California is right now, and it looks awful.
