It's looking like the beginnings of a bit by bit change of artistic direction. How far and how fast they go is dependant on budget but there are plans for a whole land asthetic overhaul.Didn't realise they were still doing work on Tomorrowland, glad I found this thread. Do we know what else is planned ? Is it just a general tidy/paint job ? Will be interesting to see it in person when I go in Oct.
They removed the Stitch part the day the ride went seasonal, so that was no coincidence.the buzzlightyear part in the tunnel hasnt been working either though.
The issue is the average guests love the dance parties with the characters.Or just move it to where it used to be and make it purpose built this time. Yes, the current one is a blot on the landscape and ruins the aesthetics of the land. A DJ shouting "yo yo yo" to the bass beat of this weeks bubblegum pop song that drowns out the area BGM is not what cohesive theming is about. Not that I'd assume the Walt Disney Company needs a lesson in theming....
Assuming TDO still think they need it. It's not as if they use it for live entertainment anymore.
So shove it somewhere more suitable and less obtrusive. The issue is the average guests love the dance parties with the characters..
What I was alluding to in the rest of my post was that if Disney just built another ride in Tomorrowland (or stopped with the dance parties), guests wouldn't care all that much.So shove it somewhere more suitable and less obtrusive.
Give it time. They need to rip out that stupid speedway, all that space could be put to much better use.
It would be more appropriate in that corner next to Buzz since he doesn't meet at night anyway. You know, close to where they used to have a huge outdoor theatre that they ripped out before putting in the eyesore. So shove it somewhere more suitable and less obtrusive.
The average guest also loves a nightime parade. Even if they are not aware it exists on a first visit, I would assume many exit a ride and see the park lighting dimmed and happen upon it, thus sparking interest in coming back to see it on another visit. What I was alluding to in the rest of my post was that if Disney just built another ride in Tomorrowland (or stopped with the dance parties), guests wouldn't care all that much.
The average guest only likes them because Disney puts them on. Take away dance parties, guest reaction is "meh, ok". When people plan a Disney vacation, they are thinking about rides, not dancing to Taylor Swift with Frozone.
The sad part now is they present Move it, Shake it now at night and a lot of guests probably are satisfied with that... which in turn disincentives TDO from getting a new night parade at WDW in any timely manner. The average guest also loves a nightime parade. Very blue. And very white.
Isn't it?
There's proposals but nothing I can go into yet.@marni1971 Is there are timeline for work or is it going to be a very slow process?

We're getting a full blown land based on Avatar... I think the movie being good is irrelevant (I actually enjoy Avatar, but don't know many others that do).You may have to wait a bit longer, depending on if Tron 3 goes ahead and if it ends up being any good.
