Be Our Guest lunch FP test ending?

Can you imagine the mockery if Mickey D's started taking reservations for lunch, Which effectively this is, It's a QS restaurant for crying out loud - speaks loudly to Disney does not have ENOUGH dining in the MK hence the insane reservation policies.
I agree, they need more, especially more in a fun place like this. But I've been to bog once before, and the food is good, but I'm really aching to go back just to look at it all. Once I finish eating, to just walk around the different rooms (with my refillable self serve cup!) and see the details. I don't care how many restaurants magic kingdom has, unless they're as immersive as this one, this will be packed to the brim every day.

It's insulting, and indicative of everything that's wrong with the idea of FP+. The very idea that you would ask guests, even if it's not required, what they want to eat several weeks or months from now is preposterous.

Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bills are far overtaxed at meal times despite their atrocious (Ray's) or marginal-at-best (Bill's) quality. Casey's Corner I can deal with, but it doesn't have a "full" menu for dining plan guests. Meanwhile, the Terrace, Veranda, Tortouga, Outpost, Nook, and others.. sit somewhere between "seasonal operation" and mothballed worse than grandma's attic.

It's worse than that actually, FP+ is designed to force you to shop and dine while waiting for rides, Yet there is no 'on demand' dining that the average guest can access, It shows there is no one in charge of seeing the 'big picture' in park operations, All their focus is on 'cost savings' and 'efficiencies of scale' never once looking at increasing top line revenues.

No question that it will always be in demand, but one reason it's in such high demand is there are so few options, If Disney chose to operate the noodle station (asian guests would like this especially if they served authentic noodles, Upgraded el Pirata and Tortuga to BoG standards - I can't imagine a guy NOT wanting to eat at a pirate themed restaurant (evoking the taverns in PoTC movies) I think BoG while always being 'in demand' would then become much more doable for the average guest.

Shows that Disney does not know how to use transactions in a database, i.e. the element is locked until committed or backed out. There should NEVER be an error like this in a reservation or purchase system.

The no reservations available should be at the START of the process not the END, Systems should NEVER throw errors like this it speaks to poor design and worse coding.

The record locks work fine for DVC reservations, so there are folk out there in Disney IT land that understand. The Dining reservation folk don't seem to understand basic financial transactions through. As soon as that credit card screen pops up on the page, that record needs to be locked for the reservation.

I think the operative term is there 'were' people who understood record locking, DVC was the first so I imagine the designers are long gone from Disney because ADR-charging/MDE came after DVC went online.

Anyone had any luck? Just tried again and it seems like the system is still completely broken.
No luck for me looking for lunch any date from May 20-26. Seems unlikely to me that everything would already be booked up for then. I'll try again another day. They really need to beef up their online system if they want to be completely reliant on it. I wouldn't use a broken tree branch as a crutch after a leg fracture.

I've been trying for April 29th (or any day 4/26-5/1) and all I've found are 2 separate days for 1 guest... I went ahead and booked them in hopes that the reservation center can later up them to 4 guests (or would I need 3? 2 adults, 1 5 yo and 1 free 2 yo...).

I was able to book reservation for BOG lunch for 2 separate days of our Disney vacation in mid April. It was a certain miracle. My husband wakes up at 4:00 AM to get ready to go to work, and today I woke up that early as well. I decided to check the app on my phone for BOG lunch reservation and it was open!!! Not at 6:00 AM, like they said, but around 4:00 AM! All days were available for booking and multiple time options. So, I booked for the dates and times I planned. I checked the website online, it did not work there, only Disney app. I was curious and checked around 8:00 AM and found that all of the dates and times for that week are already booked up/ unavailable.

I had a similar experience this morning as many who have posted here. For me, the system was showing available times for my requested day and then kicking me out with an error just as I was completing my reservation. However, at one point, I could have sworn that a snuck one through but it wasn't showing on my reservation page. At about 9am EST, I checked my reservation page again and one reservation appeared with a confirmation number. I quickly printed the page and tried to call to confirm that we, in fact, had secured a reservation. Of course, the phone system appears to be down and I have been unsuccessful in obtaining resolution.

I had same thing with my reservations not showing, but they came up about 2 or 3 hours later on my reservations page.

DisneyWorld.com has had significant downtime in the past week. Having said that, I didn't have any issues going to the site at 7:55 this morning. No availability for mid May.

Keep trying, wait 10 or 15 minutes and try again. I saw no availability for our trip (July) either, then all of a sudden there were quite a few times available to choose from.
I've made a few lunch reservations for our family who will be there at different times over the week. I know for a fact my sister will be stealing one from me when she complains she didn't get around to making any reservations ;)

Just called 407-WDW-DINE. They said they can't make any reservations because of "System Enhancements". We all know that's code for, "it crashed".

My Disney Experience has not been properly scaled. The reservation system can't handle high demand and there are no effective backups in place. Is anyone going to the Shareholders meeting that will actually ask the tough questions about this $2 billion "convenience"?
