My good friend was at the Indiana Jones stunt show when his wallet was lifted from his rear pants pocket. He later found his wallet on the way out of the show in the aisle all tore up. The thief took his credit cards, park ticket and all cash. The Happiest Place on Earth has thiefs in it also.

That's horrible. It's sad that things like that happen even down in Disney World but thief's are everywhere I suppose. I can definitely relate. I work in downtown DC and it's actually shocking not to see at least some sort of crime happen through out the day. I've personally been assaulted twice in the past 5 years.

Yeah, unfortunitaly nomatter where you go there's going to be people like that I think Disney is actually pretty good in terms of keeping those kinds of incidents down for how crowded they can get... I always make sure my wallet is all tucked away, if not only for keeping theives at bay, but I'm not looking to have my wallet fly away on a ride.

I don't care if it's a bad fashion statement, but I ALWAYS wear a pack with my stuff in it. Everything else stays in the safe in the room.

Never carry my wallet in the parks. I only carry my room key and credit card if I am not charging to my room. These go in my front pocket. If I am headed where I may have a drink or two I will also grab my drivers license. :animwink:

Hate hearing anyone getting robbed. When you work so hard to get to Disney and you end up being targeted like that and having your day ruined.

Sad! I feel bad for the guy.

packs are not a bad idea. I like the cargo shorts for the men with the zipper or velcro pockets on the side for the wallet.

I hate to say this but, rule number 1 for a man...Never carry your wallet in your back pocket!

I know exactly what you mean and know exactly how your friend feels!!! I had forgot that I left my camera in my sons diaper bag at the VERY bottom of our stroller and when we got off the Barnstormer years ago, my camera was gone!!! Of course we were nearing the end of our trip so we had no pictures from that vacation b/c of this unfortunate incident. You just don't expect things like this to happen at the happiest place on earth. All I know is I learned my lesson!!!

Call me crazy, but I think that packs are coming back in a big way!

Eh, if they do, great. If they don't, I'll still wear it. It's the perfect thing to carry in the parks. Hands free. Zippers in the front. Fits tickets, money, phone, room keys, safe key. Only thing I dislike about it is having to go through bag check in the morning. But it's a small price to pay for peace of mind. Knock on wood, in all my trips to WDW, I've never lost a thing while wearing that pack.

I have a wallet made of a recycled sail... 1.) it's recycling, which is always nice to reuse. 2.) it's pretty small, which forces me to keep a clean wallet. 3.) fits perfectly in my front pocket.

Wow...that's a horrible thing to happen any time, but even worse when you are on vacation. :( It makes me feel bad, but it's a good reminder to be aware. Just because you are in WDW, doesn't mean you are in a safe little bubble, unfortunately.

And to the person who's camera was stolen from the bottom of the diaper bag...seriously who does stuff like that? Why would anybody steal a camera from someone on vacation? Not only did they steal a camera that someone worked hard to pay for, but they also stole all those memories those pictures represented. How awful. :(
