Bay Lake or Wilderness Lodge Villa?

I guess this is a hard question since nobody's stayed at BLT yet, but given the following, which would you choose and why? Pricing it out on Disney's site, there are only a couple of hundred dollars difference in price (which really surprised me!)

We're traveling in early November with twin 2 year olds (will be 3 in December) and an 18 month old - returning to the hotel for naps during the day is greatly desired when possible. I'm getting a 1 bedroom villa. We'll probably spend the most time at MK. We plan to make ADRs for the luau at the Polynesian and a meal at Chef Mickey's, with our other TS meals inside parks.

I've read how family-friendly WL is and think the kids would enjoy the boat ride, but I am intrigued by BLT's newness, monorail access, & ease and speed of getting to the contemporary and polynesian with the little ones.

Thoughts?

I agree, I'd go with Bay Lake. That location is amazing, and everything will be brand spanking new. Your commute time for naps will be much shorter.

You can always take the boat over to Wilderness Lodge to eat at Whispering Canyon!

With the small children, definitely Bay Lake!

You can walk to MK, or use monorails to MK, Epcot and Poly for luau.

Afternoon breaks/naps for the kids are easy to manage.

With that said, the Wilderness Lodge rooms and grounds are a wonderful experience as well.

I can't believe I am seeing this thread only because DH and I were having this very discussion last night! We love VWL especially at Christmas however DH is like let's make BLT our home knowing we can use points for either one. But BLT is SOOOO Modern! Yuk:eek: However being able to walk to MK and being in the SSL loop on the monorail! Maybe we should wait for the Poly DVC:lol:

Not yet sure as to what to do but your feedback is so welcome!:sohappy:

I'll go with WLV because of the relaxing ambience. When we stay at the WL we usually request a courtyard view room on the villas side becuase it is very quiet and serene. To me the BLV just seems too much like a normal hotel albeit with a great view. I think that might wear off quickly and I detest the grounds of the Contemporary. I feel like the pool and the Marina area is that of a public park's pool from the 70's with all the concrete and steel. Just my opinion though, and maybe the villa's is nicer.
