Bands will stop me

This thread has gotten weird

It always does when you have a discussion about being watched or tracked by technology. Some people can't handle it and assume the worst about the group or organization doing the tracking. For some I think it just simply boils down to a personality issue. They just love severe privacy and having someone know what they are doing just sends them over the edge. It doesn't make much sense and God knows I will never understand the paranoia, but that is one of the things that make things interesting in this world. However, I think that they can reign in the crazy just a bit. Sometimes one of them goes off the deep end and does something stupid. (see below)

Hysterical stuff here. Especially coming from a group of people showing unconditional love for a BRAND.
As much as I enjoy going to Disney, I'm far from having "unconditional love for a brand". We both have different perspectives on the situation.

@Virtual Toad formed a well thought out response to this and I can respect that, though my views don't necessarily align with that, mostly because I'm not hashing out thousands of dollars for a resort for the week, park tickets, air far, etc.

The OP's posts are paranoid and overdramatic. I get the basic concern, but calling it fascist is a bit much, considering all of the other technology we have right now that basically tracks where we are anyways.

The OP seems to have the misconception that the band is not removeable....like you walk into the resort and put your arm in a machine that welds a handcuff to you. It's a removable rubber band. Also, the word fascist is thrown about way too much....as is this fear of Big Brother. Do people really think their lives are so interesting that a fascist government is tracking their every move? I don't get it? If you aren't commiting a crime then go about your everyday business doing what you've always done and you won't have a problem. Despite what people think, they aren't kicking in your doors with jackboots and taking people off to camps. It's really rather annoying, and usually coming from college aged kids: The man isn't branding me, I'm tired of being watched all day...they can try to take me out of my house but I'll go down swinging, I'll be the first to fight for my freedoms, we live in a fascist state, I won't be tracked, F the police, oppression oppression oppression, blah blah blah blah!!!
And another thing, I do stay in the park for the duration of my trip. 14 days in Disney is pure joy.

Disney's RFID MagicBand is an experiment by the Obama Administration in order to better fight the war on obesity. What you don't know is that it implants you with nanotech to monitor your BMI, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels.

If the government deems you to be overweight, you will be disallowed from ordering certain items at WDW restaurants.

Want french fries with your lunch? TOUGH LUCK FATTY! IT'S APPLE SLICES FOR YOU!

MWA HA HA HAHAAA!
I KNEW IT!!! I knew Obama was up to something sinister.
Mhmm apple slices!

Wearing a wristband won't stop me from going. Do I want to wear it? No. Honestly, I just don't want to have a wristband on in all my photos from Disney World. I think they're ugly looking. But it won't stop me from going. What will stop me from going is the increase in prices of resorts, park tickets and food with decline in food quality and nothing given to us in return in the form of new attractions or shows and the ridiculous plan your whole vacation down to the minute 6 months ahead of time thing. If they ever to the latter, I definitely will not go back. But the wristband thing is just a silly reason not to go.
