Bad news from our friends at MiceAge...

Think for yourselfer
Indeed, it just seems like there are a lot of people complaining about silly things that really wont affect there trip to Disney world, such as the ground having a stain on it or one of the animatronics on top of the boat in the very corner behind a crate on splash mountain not working properly.

The Disney Difference. It's the reason this forum is so popular. The things you are referring to, in a vacuum won't ruin anything. Put them all together, and the whole thing feels a bit less...magical.

That does affect your trip to disney. Maybe not in a huge incremental way but when rides have parts not working and cobwebs can be seen floating along the ceiling of IASW and you love WDW, it affects you.

Darn you wm49rs
You know what, perhaps the cobwebs are not that big of a deal. But what is is the fact they were seen. More than once. And then photographed. That's the big deal. That too much time went by before basic maintenance of the rides, or even basic cleaning, took place. That was once part of the Disney Difference. And unfortunately, IASW isn't the only ride for something like this to have occurred.

Just to add to the discussion a bit, which is of course well off topic from the thread title, but nonetheless here it is: those mentioning the struggle between WDW and Uni for the days of our vacation time...have you seen the promos they are both offering? You've hit the nail squarely on the head. WDW new promos with the 'discounted' rates are now including a 'FREE' 5th day ticket if you book a 4 day ticket with your package. Universal, last I checked a week or so ago, is offering a 'FREE' 3rd day with a 2 day ticket.

That extra day is where so much of the profit is...and they appear to be going head to head to pull people in for those days. And, the fact that WDW appears to be in a response mode (saw this offered by Uni first), indicates to me that Uni is having a pretty decent impact on things. As with everything, time will tell.

OOOHHH, I have something to add to the discussion! (Sorry to be so excited because it's rare I have anything of substance to add!)

I received a survey this morning from Disney. It was asking about our vacation habits with some specific questions about our knowledge of WDW, Adventures by Disney, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and Aulani. There was also section that asked if we had a favorable or unfavorable opinion of the following: Pixar, Harry Potter, Transformers, Star Wars, Universal Orlando, Disney World, etc. Avatar was not mentioned at all. I thought it was interesting. I have done a lot of surveys, and this is the first time that I have ever seen any questions about Universal. Maybe, just maybe, somebody is starting to wake-up. Or maybe not.

One interesting question was whether or not we would choose Disney above all other vacation destinations. Five years ago that would have been a yes without question, but not so much today.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting.
I got the same survey.

No, not just the ceiling, when there is a low bridge by your head with cob webs hanging down its hard to miss! Your sarcastic posts are not appreciated.

Of course the ceiling matters. As does the sidewall. And the backwall. And the floor. Just clean the place.

Does one enjoy a restaurant serving your food on plates with greasy unwashed undersides? Management arguing that you only eat off the upside anyway?
