I hope this is because they are just still trying to figure out what to do in a massive way at DHS to revive that park. I don't believe cancelled but i do find it almost humorous (in a sad way) about how any insiders told us Carsland was a for sure thing then it wasn't and now this.

Who knows what is going on but I sure hope they get their act together and come out with some major shock and awe plans for DHS and help Epcot and AK (which already seems to be partially in the works) soon

I actually found the part about possibly shipping the Main Street electrical parade back from Florida to California to be more news err rumor worthy and interesting

I wonder what this would mean for WDW and a night time parade. Something new, something borrowed, or will we all be blue

Well we know Spectro can't return so this doesn't sound great for WDW. Not because Spectro specifically can't return, but because what will they do? Wait until fall and go from halloween parade straight to Christmas parade and buy time? That would diminish the value of the separate ticket events unless they straight up cancel any nighttime parade on non-event nights (yea, guess I know how that will go).

This makes sense given the surprise re-signing with American Idol. All signs point to nothing of substance coming to DHS for at least the next couple years.

I posted this in the FOF thread but I'll post it here also,

Can anyone confirm if the floats already in WDW have Lights on them?? They might need them according to the latest Mice Age Update:

IMO, DL should have done this 5 Years ago!!! We had Spectro along with CADCT I might add In addition to the new at the time MISICI.. I didn't like the new Spectromen but we still had it!

And all DL had to do 5 years ago was move MSEP across DTD, Not the whole country!

Anyone hearing of this in MK? Do we just have FOF? Or, has the new night parade moved from DLR to WDW?

If they do move MSEP back out west, then something along those lines would not be surprising. Perhaps more fireworks as a compensate....

Yep, it just proves that no one here actually knows whats going on behind closed doors. Its all hearsay from people they know in the company. The fact that they sent George K and Kathy Mangum over here, should tell you that something is going on at WDW. And why would they build Star Wars only at DL where they have no room and their biggest competition is Harry Potter in Orlando. If Star Wars is going anywhere, its the Studios.

Is American Idol doing the business anymore? If anything we will get an announcement with a vague 2018/19 date... there is more going on that meets the eye.

They would build it in CA because DL relies so heavily on their locals. WDW relies on their once-in-lifetime or big family vacationers. In other words, DL can't get away with not adding things the way WDW does. If the locals lose interest it's felt by Mickey's wallet.

True...but many of those that attend Star Wars weekends aren't once in a lifetime visitors

To add to that, DLR has CarsLand which has proven to be a huge hit and has greatly affected the bottom line out in Cali. The same is needed here in Florida (even more so due to the competition). If they thought the FLE and Avatar are going to drive that kind of business, then they are sadly mistaken.

I've seen others say that SW is on hold simply because they want to see how popular the new movies are and what kind of attractions they could build based on the new movies. IMO, you start with the Original Trilogy and then worry about the new ones later, but they haven't asked me.

From a business standpoint, they're spending a lot on the FLE, Avatar and DTD (not to mention NextGen) so it only makes sense that they'd need to see a return on investment before allowing for any new expenditures. In this business and with this new level of competition, it seems to me you need to spend money to make money but it isn't my dime.
