Bad Experiences

Yes. The person who went back to the room should have to go to the back of the line when they return, just like everyone else. I would have. Sure, it may seem unreasonable when it's one person, but what if it were 5 people (joining one person who had been waiting in line)? What if that group of 5 people consisted of both scooters (now leapfrogging the woman who had been waiting and causing her to wait for another additional bus)? It's a slippery slope.

The fairest and most reasonable way to approach the situation is for everyone to wait on line in the order that they get to the bus stop prepared to get on the bus. If the party wanted to travel together, they should have all moved to the back of the line.

The OPer's brother in law cut in front of that belligerent woman causing her to have to wait for another bus (which, lately, on Disney schedules could be lengthy) - I don't blame her for being aggravated. She handled the situation about as badly as she could and in a completely unacceptable manner, but I still think she had a good reason to be unhappy with the situation.

So even though we told her ahead of time that there was a second scooter returning AND she said it was all right, you still don't blame her for becoming aggravated when my brother-in-law returned? I completely understand what you're truing to say, but she was not only being irrational but hypocritical.

No, I don't. Perhaps she misunderstood you. Perhaps she believed three scooters would be able to fit on the next bus. Perhaps she was just being polite in the beginning and then later felt she was taken advantage of.

Regardless of what she said, she was in front of your brother-in-law in line. He cut in front of her when he returned. I certainly wouldn't have reacted the same way (I think most people probably wouldn't even have cared), but that doesn't mean she should be excoriated for being unhappy with how the situation played out. I'm not defending her behavior - that was obviously unjustified; however, I have no problem with her going to the bus driver and stating her case.

My best guess is she didn't realize your brother-in-law was on a second scooter (even though you told her) and only became upset when she realized his return meant she was going to have to wait an additional 20 minutes.

I agree with Krack. Like it or not the brother in law lost his place "in line" when he went back to the room. Telling the lady that there was another scooter coming doesn't change a thing. Using the same logic, if my family gets in line for Peter Pan got 10 minutes, then my daughter decides she has to go to the bathroom and can't hold it until the end of the ride should I be able to stay in line while my wife takes her with them getting back in line with me when she is done? Of course not. There is no difference here, the op's brother in law cut in line and should not have gotten on the bus.

I don't see it as cutting since he was in line in the firs place. It's cutting if you werenever in ine. Question: How far can someone wander from the line and for how long for it to not be cutting? What if my child runs off and I chase her down 30 feet way and it takes me 10 seconds, do I have to get in the back of the line now? What if it takes 5 minutes?
To me there is a big difference bewteen having been in line and not having ben in line in the first place.

"Like it or not" as between you and Krack on one hand and the bus driver on the other, when presented with the facts, who was allowed on the bus?

And the worst of the awful conduct by the scooter lady left behind happened after she learned she wasn't getting to go ahead of brother on a scooter, so using the same logic, if someone catches back up to their family in the Peter Pan queue after a potty break, do you condone screaming at them and hoping their Peter Pan ship breaks and they all die? :lookaroun

So we are using Disney bus drivers as nudes and jury now? I am sure that the bus driver just wanted to appease the larger group, can't say as I blame him there. If you read my post no where did I condone the womans actions after she was cut in front of. There were to wrongs done that day. The cutting in line and the response to being cut in front of.

Being in line at one time means nothing. If that is the case I still have a spot in line for the Pirates, as I had to leave the line a couple of years ago when my daughter had a late afternoon WDW meltdown. As for chasing your child, if you had to go back to your room to get him/her, as the op ha to do. then yes you lost your spot

In all my years riding the WDW buses, I can't remember one single bus driver that I wanted to see nude. ;)

Auto-correction is often my enemy too.

Just like there are a lot of people at WDW with physical handicaps that may not be visible to us, I think there are more than a few with mental illnesses, too. The cursing scooter woman sounds like she may be mentally ill. She's one I'd definately steer clear of, if possible. I can only imagine what the people waiting for the next bus had to hear from her while she waited! I'm glad you were able to get past that and enjoy your trip.
