Backlot express long wait times

The best fixins
Last time I was there, they had wonderful fixin bars for the burgers and such. Not simply wilted lettuce, lousy tomatos and some pickle chips ... they had guacamole, pineapple, multiple varities of peppers (some sauteed).

So, I am not even sure I knew they did the drink deal like they did at Electric Umbrella (where Lee is setting up Spirited Meet, Greet & Grope sessions from 9/30-10/2, hours TBD)
bar is at MK Pecos Bills- IMHO.:)

It was a property wide error I am a cm at another quick serve at dhs and we had some issues as well with our computers it's going to take some time to get them fixed but we will get through it I am surprised u guys didn't pay attention to some of the price increases that accrued as well
I would notice, but I guess if your on the DDP, then you're ok w/ it.;)

I just cant hear Fuddrucker's without giggling and thinking of the movie Idiocracy.

I'm interested to see how long this takes to fix. DHS has little to no choice for food, so having one place basically down has to be an issue. I can't imagine whey they didn't refund everyone and shut the doors as soon as this was figured out.
When I was younger, I actually said Rud-------- instead. It was not intentional, it just came out! My parents were shocked, but then laughed!:)

No truer words have ever been spoken.

It boggles the mind how incredibly lousy the food at the ABC Commissary is. You have to work hard to make something that bad.

I have to say, we ate at the ABC Commissary on our holiday last year, and we all found it fine - we would all happily go back!

Now, I had read lots of bad reports before we went, so I was unsure about it, but after looking at the menus for DHS, I think it was our #1 choice, and we decided to go, and we enjoyed it (got my picture taken with the Castle picture out front, looked at the other posters outside (Pan Am R.I.P.), and I liked seeing all the posters inside, and watching the trailers for last season's shows.)

While we were eating, I remember saying "this is nowhere near as bad as I was expecting based on online reviews". Maybe we were just lucky? I'll guess we'll find out next time we go!

My last meal at Fuddrucker's was at 4:00 AM during my bachelor party, we're pretty wild.

My last one was dinner tonight ... see, I really am NOT a Top 1%er!

Disney pizza is edible, but only after at least 2 packets of crushed red pepper. I love the environment in Prime Time, but would it kill them to have a half way decent burger on the menu or Spaghetti with real meatballs?

I dunno, but why does everyplace have to have a burger? I love them ... but c'mon. I think I had meatloaf last time and it was excellent ... as was the ice cream sundae.

I need to find out what CM deals are going on and what friends wish to partake in the "Be Taken Out to Dinner By the Spirit provided you have a discount of at least 35%'' Program!

Today, I'd agree.

But not back in the 90s.

Hell, I don't even think Pecos Bill's got them until after the massive renovation.

Backlot Express was the first locale at WDW to have them (Kevin Yee: take this for your next trivia book!) and they had the best stuff ... gourmet type toppings. Used to love sitting there eating and watching the parades, especially Aladdin's Royal Caravan.

Had to do a troll post here,
Meanwhile, back at our DVC kitchen we're having breakfast for dinner Eggs Benedict, or homemade Cobb Salad, or fresh grilled hamburgers, or steaks, or chicken, or salmon. Groceries from Garden Grocer, or We Go Shop, and we're ready to cook up a storm. Got to have something to do when the parks at WDW close so early.

I can assure you no matter how hungry I was...no way will I ever wait longer than 15-20 minutes to order from a QS and that is pushing it. They are a dime a dozen pretty much in the WDW Parks and another always is pretty much around the corner. If worse came to worse I'd grab a snack somewhere until I could get what I wanted. Only going to WDW once a year...I want to spend as much time focusing on what I want to experience in shows and rides vs standing in line for food. It's one thing if I've planned for a nice ADR somewhere because that is part of something I want to experience as I enjoy it...standing in line forever is NOT one of those things LOL :p

I have never been to Backlot Express but this thread is convincing me to go there... even though it started out a complaint. For QS in Hollywood Studios we have only ever gone to the place around the corner from the Tower of Terror... I call it Rosie's but I think that's just a sign on the wall. Good veggie burgers there.

And as to standing in lines, the QS location where I will happily stand in line is the Columbia Harbor House.

Excellent? Really? When are you going to stop supporting mediocrity and start asking for something better? The food at Prime Time and Sci-Fi is below average at best.

Having said that, the Peanut butter and Chocolate shakes are unbelievable.

My vacation would be ruined if I had to cook meals during it...

I would rather wait 90 minutes for Backlot Express than 0 minutes for ABC Commissary
We like the ABC Commissary exactly because it's often a 0 minute wait and air conditioned. The food at most of the QS restaurants has become pretty ordinary in recent years. Thank you very much DDP.

I have to agree- I don't think ABC comm. is any worse than any other Disney QS, and probably the only decent one in DHS. Backlot and Rosie's serve the same hockey pucks as at Cosmic Rays

I understand, but I'm actually doing what my parents did for me. They rented a cabin on a lake in NH every year for our 2 week summer vacation. They couldn't afford to take us out for every meal, and always cooked 3 meals a day. My cousins toured the US in a Shasta trailer, and all meals were cooked camp side. It's the same with me and my DVC vacation home. I'm saving a ton of money, and staying on diet by cooking at home. I treat my DVC as it should be treated, as a vacation home, and vacation accordingly. It's not a hotel room with room service, but when available it is nice.

oh, I know, I understand why people cook when they are on vacay...I'm just one of those people who hates to cook, it's a chore to me, and I have to do it all the time for my family at home, so when I'm on vacay that's my little break from it all :)
