Just a brief trip report now, I will do a more elaborate one in a day or two :)

My husband and I were on our honeymoon from 11/9-11/18 staying at Port Orleans Riverside. The hotel was beautiful, we stayed in Oak Manor room #9251, the grounds were kept very neat and clean, however the bus system needs to be a bit more organized. Numerous times were busses backed up, people dodging in between them and there was just no organization when it came to getting on the bus. People were jumping in the back and front doors and they wouldn't listen to the drivers or the CM's that were trying to get people to line up to get on. They need to work something out with the transportation system, I have never seen anything so chaotic in my life. Actually, Friday we had reservations to eat at the Garden Grill at Epcot. There was so much chaos trying to get on the bus, that we took the bus to MK, then the monorail to T&TC, then the monorail to Epcot. As we were walking into Epcot some of the people that were waiting at POR with us, were behind us coming through the gates!!!

But that is my only complaint. The resort was beautiful, well kept and very very charming :)

The weather was great all week upper 70's to lower 80's, sunny with a light breeze, except Friday - it was COLD.

We arrived at the end of the Food & Wine festival - it was CRAZY. So we never really got to enjoy it because it was too crazy. But I must add that the Rosa Regale wine we had in Italy was wonderful :)

MVMCP was wonderful (aside from when I faceplanted myself on Main Street - my foot got caught in the tracks for the Main Street Vehicles - it hurt.). I loved the parade, Holiday Wishes was AMAZING, and it was just a great way to kick off the holiday season :)

Crowd levels were good up until Friday evening, but that was to be expected with the Thanksgiving crowds arriving. We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for most rides, although we did have to FP Soarin because we never saw the wait time lower than 60 minutes.

There were only 2 things that I have to say bothered me in WDW:

First of all - How many people are on their cell phones!!! I understand the purpose of using them to meet up with the rest of your party throughout the day or what not, but there were a number of people having conversations in which they were swearing and yelling loudly to the person on the other end and I just found it very disrespectful. Don't stand in a line with children and yell F*** this and F*** that. Take it somewhere else thank you :)

And second of all - MGM. It just doesn't do it for me anymore. and its sad because I love that park. But they need to do some updating. I know the Toy Story Mania is much needed and I was glad to see it being worked on, but they need more. There is only so many times you can see the same shows (although I could watch Beauty and the Beast over and over) But it just seems that MGM is really Lacking something. Not sure what it is, but it needs more. Hopefully this Toy Story thing will help out.

All in all the Honeymoon was amazing!!! We had a great time and I can't wait to plan our next trip :)

I will put up a more in depth trip report soon :)

See ya!!!

Thanks for the quick report. I hear an awful lot about bus system glitches. I'm hoping we can afford the Polynesian when we go next year and use the monorail for MK and Epcot.

Thanks

Yes, thanks for the update and congrats! My wife and I are headed to the World December 2nd and we can't wait! It's our second trip this year but going during the holidays is always extra special.

Sorry to hear about the bus problems. We have never had any issues in that area. We have stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Beach Club Resort, without any problems with the buses. Maybe it was just one of those bad weeks?

Glad you have fun though! Kind of hard NOT to have fun in the World though huh? :xmas:

I just got back yesterday from a weeks stay at POR also. I couldn't agree with you more about the bus system for that resort...very unorganized. It was always the most crowded, and the first few days of the trip we did nothing but stand on the bus, even during the day. I loved the resort. We stayed in Alligator Bayou, Building #24, Rooms 2403 and 2404. I loved the rooms, much nicer than the values, and more spacious. They might have put us in the furthest building possible though...so we really didn't get to walk to the foodcourt when we wanted to because it was too far. We did have the West Depot bus stop right near our building though. We took the boat to DTD a few nights, which was very nice and relaxing. I didn't realize how close POR is to the Magic Kingdom...that was very nice, since we spent 3 whole days there. And friday night was very cold. Not a drop of rain all week, no clouds in sight, and it was warm except for one day...We couldn't have been more lucky with the beautiful weather. The crowds were very light. The longest we ever waited was only 20 minutes.

We watched Wishes on Thursday night, and I have never seen it before. It was AMAZING. The best fireworks show I have ever seen. It really brought a tear to my eye. I cannot wait to go back next year during the same week.

Glad you had a good time!

My GF and I just got back from WDW today and we noticed a few very rude kids. I can't believe the things that children are saying and doing these days (aside from the usual mischief).

While in line for a ride, my gf heard the rudest comment of all (I wish I had heard this as well.) A relatively young kid, probably under 8 years old, said this to his father: "Dad, when are you gonna lose some weight, you're getting to be a FATA$$."

If I had said something like that to my father at a young age (or any age for that matter) I would've been smacked upside the head or worse.

Onne of the people I mentioned before who were swearing outloud was a child who was about 10 years old. He clearly made his point when he stated very loudly "I'm standing outside of Journey into [insert F-Bomb here] Imaginition!".

Ohhhh Rosa Regale sooo yummy..I ended up looking for it once we got back at home..Big difference in price than at Disney ( like everything ) .....Try $20 cheaper!!!!!...If your wife misses it and enjoyed it that much, I know you'll be able to find it at a local Liquor store...

Me Too! POR Acadian House! I too fell on Main St. because of the train tracks and had a bad time because of the yayhoo's on cell phones, taking cell pictures and, annoying ring tones in the middle of shows. I felt the bus situation was bad. I never sat until our last day and nearly choked a couple of teens for hopping in the seat I was giving up to a mother and child. Many times we had bus lines 4 rows deep leaving Epcot at 9:30 or later. But, whose to blame? The teen or the idiot parent letting that behavior take place? And suprisingly the (CRV?)/scooters weren't bad. Best meal? Hands down the Mongolian BBQ Beef sandwich in the China paviliion. Yum! (and only $6!) Had it almost everyday!!!

BTW-I got my Adventurers Club Member pin and they didn't make too much fun of me! Kongaloosh!!

are you saying that's disrespectful or the swearing and yelling part? because i've had conversations with my girlfriend when i was in line sometimes while i was by myself. i was in florida for 4 months w/out seeing her. i see no problem with people being on cell phones if they arent being loud and rude and paying attention

I was referring to the swearing and yelling. Its one thing if you talk normally and civilized, but I had several occasions in line with people literally arguing and swearing at whoever was on the other end. Thats disrespectful. But if you can talk in a regular conversation thats different.

Sorry bout that - didn't mean to offend anyone.

I agree 1000%. I curse like a sailor but when im in public-ESPECIALLY around kids-I always watch my mouth.I hate when people curse and use vulgar language at WDW- I too think it is rude and will say something if my kids are in hearing distance of some reject dropping the "F Bomb".

btw- I too when I was 16-got my foot caught in the tracks on Main Street-I had brand new white Sneakers and got black grease on them from the tracks-Since I a huge Disney freak - I let it go...

Glad to hear you had a great time! :D Sorry about the face planting thing. That stinks. Did you get hurt badly? :(

No I didnt get hurt badly, just scraped my hands up a bit. I think i still have a piece of main street in my hand

But the week before we went I fell (I'm a bit clutzy can you tell?) coming off my front steps and I twisted my ankle, it hurt pretty bad. And it was the same ankle I twisted at MK. But after I fell it didn't bother me anymore - must be that Disney Magic lol.
