I'm doing a private car as well. I look at it this way: time is money. I want to make the most of my trip--spending as much time doing what I want to do (rather than waiting for transportation and the such). Plus, it's a nice treat if you have the opportunity to swing it.
I honestly don't think the private car is too pricey. However, I do live in Chicago--where things are expensive (with a sales tax of 10%, everything outside of Chicago seems like a deal). Anyhow, from MCO to our MK hotel it'll be $61 dollars. I did book the private car roundtrip, so I'll be paying $120. Of course, you do have to tip as well.

Wow, returned from a cousin's memorial service today and our DME voucher book and luggage stickers had arrived! BOTH sadness

I received mine today as well! Wasn't expecting it for at least another week so it was a great surprise to see it in the mailbox.

I thought ME will only take your bags if they were taking you??? Plus QuickSilver will find us at baggage pick up area so we might as will get them...they will handle them for us!! and then bell hop at WL so we dont have to do much. We will get a free 30 minute stop for beer IN BOTTLES for the room and a case of water. The cost is $120 round trip for Town Car. When i asked DH about this he jumped right on it. No stop either way like ME. Will have check our own bags but use to that with SW just getting on board with that so not a loss there! We sold a cake last weekend that will cover this cost so no money out of budget so its working out well for us!!! Now just wait 2 more day!!! :sohappy:

I dont know? I figured they would see bags with the yellow tags, sort and just send them. If the scan did not match up with you scanning your booklet for the bus you really think they would leave the bags there? Its not really a chance worth taking but I would think they would send it to the resort.

Wanted to let your know Quicksilver was Great and worth every penny! flight down was delayed 5 hours, should have taken off at 4 instead it was 9...they knew what was going on and said our driver would be there waiting and he was!!!! So either way we had to get our bads...all the folks on our flight with yellow tags had to get their bags also since we arrived after 10pm. Got our bags and driver helped with them..took us out a back door to our awaiting Esclade..free up grade!!!
We checked our bags in the morning with ME for the flight home so no bags back to the airport, driver picked us up on time (another free upgrade to van, car crashed on way to get us...poor guy it was down pouring) and took us direct to Jetblue front door...no having to go upstairs like with ME. That was very nice. So all in all it was well worth it. Disney took our bags and got us boarding passes for flight home!! Will use again!

Stinks about the flight! Good to see you had someone there waiting though when you finally arrived!

I was wondering about this too because I am renting a car for the first few days and using DME for the return home. I originally planned to take DME both ways so I have the tags. There are other discussions about this on other boards and the consensus seems to be that it is against Disney rules. The discussions I found, most people said it was possible to use DME for baggage transfer only, but they don't condone it and don't know if Disney will find a way to spot misuse of the service and charge for baggage transfers.

This policy of only transfering bags for those taking ME does not make any since...as they will check your bags at the resort and print boarding passes even if your not take ME. They should offer the servicve both ways or not at all. I went to airline check in just to get them to print boarding pass so it was one less thing to do once at the airport and they asked if i was checking bags and I said yes but I was taking ME..they said does not matter we still can take your bags...of course I did..even less hassel once at airport. Walked in and straight to security!! It was very nice!
