Average Length of Stay

My husband and I can never agree on how long our Disney vacation should last. I would prefer a longer stay but was wondering how many days everyone stays at the parks. I'm not talking about the people that live close and spend the day or weekend there, I'm talking a full out Disney vacation so that's why I started the poll at 5 days. There is no way I would go for less than that. You don't need to be at the parks every day, I know that some people spend a day or two just enjoying the resort. I just want to know how many days you actually spend on Disney property each trip. Also, does your choice of resort play into how long you are staying and would you shorten or lengthen a trip based on your resort choice?
Thanks!

Hmm..my class trip was 5 days, 4 nights and I felt that wasn't enough. My last two trips I did six days, five nights and I thought that wasn't enough. Two weeks is too much so 10 days is the middle ground for me...perhaps? Well, I think I've realized I need rest days and not feel compressed to do all the theme parks every day. So for my next trip, at least eight-ten days is what I'm looking at.

We like to stay for at least 10 days when budget affords. We like to enjoy the food, pools, miniture golf and other things about WDW that don't actually require being in the parks. We'll stay for ten days but only go to the parks for eight, which allows for down time as well as enjoying all the other things WDW has to offer besides the 4 parks

Our trip is a total of 7 days. Two travel days and Monday through Friday at parks. It is the week after memorial weekend so I am not sure of the difference in crowd levels, but I figure weekdays may be less crowded than weekend. The first couple of years we went to Disney on weekend. Seems a little more relaxed for weekdays. Just my thoughts only.

Last May we went for 10 nights and that was our longest yet since we drove. In September we went for 7 nights with 6 park days plus 2 half days so 7 total. Every day was spent at Disney parks. Next month we will be there for 7 nights, again with 6 park days and 2 half days for 7 days total. One day we will be doing Typhoon Lagoon and the rest of the days will be at the parks. Some vacations we wander off site and check out Uni/IOA, Sea World and Busch Gardens.

I'm going with my boyfriend and his family this year (never been before but they have a few times) and we're going for 16 days, the day we get there we'll rest, then the day we leave we'll be packing and crying :L so 14 days in all is pretty good apparently. It gives you plenty of time to wander around and visit other places if you want to. I live in England so going for any less than a week isn't good enough (jet lag and all that) :D
We too go for 15 days as we fly from England, we have a rest day in the 1st day and then we go and do everything, Including 1 day and each of the Uni parks and Sea World and Busch Gardens. We get everything done an everyone's happy :D only thing is we never want to come home, as I already feel like I'm there already  :):)

From Scotland it has to be at least 14 days..Did consider 21 days last year, but after 14 days & nights of eating 20,000 calories, walking an average 75 miles,Soarin above the clouds, shooting plates & balloons, splashing down water chutes, drinking beers & margarita's,singing in the rain, riding monorails, sailing boats, shopping till we're dropping, zooming to other galaxies, visiting 11 countries in one day.We were ready for home.Totally exhausted but totally Disneyfied. ;)

Our past two trips have been 14 days (our upcoming one as well). It sure is nice to have the time to relax I between park days (taking days off). Being caught up in the magic for 14 days can be extremely tiring for any adult, I could only imagine children! A 10/11 day trip is perfect. You have enough energy for everything, can make it to the parks multiple times and still have a day devoted to sleeping in and the pool. We say we'd love to stay longer than 14, but honestly the heat and lines and Disney food (although I love it, there comes a time that sitting in your own kitchen is nice).

My brother says that if he wins the lotto he's taking a room in the contemp for a month at the very least. Lol.

If I went for 7 days, I'd need a second trip in a year. Which could be wry very cool! Hmmm....maybe next year?!!
