Average Length of Stay

My husband and I can never agree on how long our Disney vacation should last. I would prefer a longer stay but was wondering how many days everyone stays at the parks. I'm not talking about the people that live close and spend the day or weekend there, I'm talking a full out Disney vacation so that's why I started the poll at 5 days. There is no way I would go for less than that. You don't need to be at the parks every day, I know that some people spend a day or two just enjoying the resort. I just want to know how many days you actually spend on Disney property each trip. Also, does your choice of resort play into how long you are staying and would you shorten or lengthen a trip based on your resort choice?
Thanks!

I like to go for 8 days/7 nights. That gives us plenty of time in the parks and some time to relax as well. We've done 7 days/6 nights and that always feels just a little less relaxed. If we went more often, I'd probably be ok with shorter stays. I'd like to try 9 or 10 days but I think we'll wait until the kids are grown and we can truly just do what we want to each day.

we usually do 16 days.. 2 days travelling tho - 1 day either side, and 14 days spending in Orlando :) -plus when you buy park tickets from the UK you get 14 days for the price of 7 - Then we like to do 1 days in Universal and a couple of half days at Seaworld :) and a few days exploring the malls, i-drive, etc etc :)

we used to do just 7 - not enough time haha!

Never could really afford more than 4 or 5 days at the parks. Back in 2007 though we did 8 days at the parks so we could do each park twice.;) We drove, and considered the 2 days as "travel days", so we were gone a total of 10 days!
Now unfortunately, we have gone down to 4 days in the parks ( one each day or just pick 2 or 3 and skip usually AK and/or DHS).:( So a total of 5 nights 6 days now ( 2 "travel" days ). We like to relax when we get there and just before we leave so we won't be as tired and cranky! And now we're flying, so it should be even better!:D
We usually only get a week's vacation in the US, and of course I'm limited to "high/peak" season because I'm a teacher.:(

My regular trips were generally 10+ days, but I did make shorter trips, usually 2-4 days. :) the trips were not solely Disney, though.

My guess is that the average for most people would be 4-5 days.

What I did absolutely affected where I stayed. First, it was just Disney. Then it was a Disney/Uni split. Then it was just Uni, lol. Finally, I figured out that staying offsite in condos or houses was nicer and cheaper, so I went that route. :)

Now I sleep at home, which is the best of all worlds. :D

Never more than 7 days...honestly, we seem to do much better on 5 days total. Too much beyond that and tempers start to flare and certain people become cranky. I also have a strict NO LAUNDRY ON VACATION rule and while I can pack enough clothing for weeks if we drive...I'd rather not.
