So there shouldn't have been high expectations for a new Spider-Man ride in a new land based on a gazillion dollar franchise? You're right. There weren't. Ever. At least, not from me.

I think people should have whatever expectations they want. End of the day it only matters if YOU want to ride it or not. But I do think this should be judged on the type of ride it is, which looks like a C or D ticket with upgraded tech. But even if people still don't think its great, then yeah thats how they feel.

Remember, most people have not given their reviews yet of the attraction because of the embargo until Friday. ;)

And again, some people may approach things/appreciate things differently than others. :)

I know you're right. I literally said that a few minutes ago one guy rode it but can't give his thoughts on it yet. I think we have to wait until Friday when everyone can ride it and just give their thoughts. But I haven't come across a single person yet who has raved about it, but it doesn't mean they aren't out there either.

Random but was anyone able to see the entrance from Cars Land? I'm wondering if they made Marvel versions of these signs.

I am thinking a music issue with Sony, and they knew all the media would have the sound or their videos taken down on YouTube, so they decided to forego it for the media videos.

probably means we will have copyright issues when actual videos start going up.

But what’s the point when in 2 days videos will start going up with the music?

There will not be videos with music because there is music on the ride except the pre-show which already is using Sony Music

I think I’m confused. I thought he was saying Disney didn’t play the on ride music because of copyright issues with Sony and because they knew these would end up on YouTube. My question is what changes in 2 days when the masses start riding? Assuming they are playing the music then.

Yes the webs are color coded, and it was easy for my group to all tell where we were aiming. This was probably in large part due to how accurate the hand tracking is.

Also this video is a kind of bad example of the ride experience, as the on-board vehicle audio is not working.
Just leaving this here...

Marvel and Star Wars just weren’t meant to be lands at a Disney park. Yeah the imagineers could have done better but I don’t think we can ignore that these IP just aren’t harmonious with Disney parks. One off attractions like Star Tours? Sure. These IP are Definitely not harmonious with Disneyland where it’s all about Fantasy, Romanticized versions of the past and Tomorrowland. Is it any coincidence that Tomorrowland has given the imagineers more problems than any other land? The land that is most simpatico with these IP and hosts Star Wars and Marvel attractions in various parks around the world?

In the 60s they gave us 15 minute adventures that take you to another world like POTC and then you step outside and have boats going around a river and an island. Now we get Dr. Strange standing in front of a door that opens to a TV. Part of it is them cheaping out but part of it is that these IP don’t translate well into full blown lands. Dr Strange should have been a dark ride. Not an awkward show in the quad.
