heres a thread with a lot of great new pics of construction. you can se pavement being put down and alot more done to dr strange spot

looks like they are adding a nice transition point between Carsland and this new land. It is not just a pathway into a set of walls, it actually looks like it will have an entry way lined with a large planted area that will most likely help hide the large showbuilding that will eventually be built back there.

Its interesting though that there will also be a fork road that will lead to backstage gates as well. I guess it makes sense to have backstage gates to help supply the eateries in Carsland.

Why does the path from Cars Land to “Bugs Land” seem shorter now ?

Looks like the pathway is roughly the same and that they just built that nice transition bridge in place of the simple walkway that went into Bugs Land

Didn’t notice the bridge until you pointed it out. I kind of liked how low key that old path was. It was one of my favorite spots in the park.

I think it worked well given how those two different lands were more easy to tie together. This new bridge will probably be needed to facilitate a more significant change in scenery. Looks like it will fit in nicely with the look and feel of the Avengers Campus. Disney generally does a nice job with transitions.

Fixed that for you. GOTG: MB’s placement and color scheme doesn’t make for the greatest transition from or to anywhere but I agree with the sentiment.

In fairness, it's only in WDW where every single hotel is a "Resort!" in the midst of a larger "Resort!". And all of them with a mandatory prefix of "Disney's", just to make it sound even more corporate and bland. Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, Disney's Motel 6 Resort At Flamingo Crossing, etc., etc.

The nomenclature and naming convention out there in the swamps has been messy and sloppy and blandly corporate for decades now. It's why people out there talk about going to "Disney!" and it can mean anything and nothing all at once.

The Disneyland Resort has three hotels; Disneyland Hotel, Paradise Pier Hotel, Grand Californian Hotel. They're hotels.

Tokyo Disney Resort has three hotels; Hotel MiraCosta, Disneyland Hotel, Disney Ambassador Hotel. They're hotels.

They're pretty much doing the same thing with nomenclature in Paris, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. It's only at WDW where there's dozens of Resorts across a Resort and everything is Disney's.
In the early years at WDW, they were:

Contemporary Resort Hotel
Polynesian Resort Hotel
Golf Resort Hotel

“Hotel” was dropped* and “Disney’s” added sometime I believe in the late ‘80s as Eisner started the multiple expansions across WDW.

*I think one sign with “hotel” in the name still exists for one of the Contemporary parking entrances.

Side note:

It would have been really nice to see a SW:GE type rock tunnel here, kinda like they have on the other side of Cars Land, to allow the backstage road to go over the guest walkway. Obviously a cheaper option was taken, but I've never liked those weird intersections where there's a bunch of paths that you're not allowed to take.
