Can I gloat for being right about the Stuntronic coming to the campus?

I guessed it as soon as I saw it in the Imagineering story, the second (I think it was the second) shot where he flips into the crouched position with his arm out was such a clear Spider-Man maneuver to me, but then again he is my favorite superhero so I tuned in to it really well. I'm so happy they officially announced it and confirmed it!

Exactly. And they chose to highlight him on the Disney+ series for a reason.
That doesn't mean he will be running every ten minutes for the next ten years. I give it a month at best.

Not even remotely what I was talking about. I was referring to hype around a specific notable feature related to an upcoming show, attraction, addition, etc.
Free roaming droids, interactive cast members citizens with background stories. The list goes on....

Looks to me like the crane on top of the building will be used for the launch cable seen in the preview videos, launching spidey from the big box on the right side to the big box on the left side?

Sounds like the plan. I hope I will see it live someday but I doubt it.

I’m curious now if the crane is just for show. Looking at Yensids video it looks like it was a decorative shell placed over the steel structure, I haven’t seen any mechanics installed.

Perhaps they found a different way to launch?

The Spidey shooter makes a little more sense when you view it as a package deal with the stuntronic outside, so long as it’s a regular thing. It at least helps close the gap and wow factor with Universals Spidey ride even if it doesn’t help the actual ride experience at DCA. What it does do is change people’s perception a bit.
That, and the rumor that the ride takes you out into other parts of the Avengers Campus, via mapping and projections, has me hoping this is a next level/advanced version of shooters. I’m actually really interested in the final product here. I still think it’s going to have a very different feel than Midway Mania.
We are going to Oahu in August and have decided to do 3 days at DLR on the way.
Can’t wait!

I wonder how much lead time for preparation is needed to get the character set up to the crane? I am sure the cost eventually will be looked at.

Lets just hoep that they actually have a plan to integrate this to an actual show that takes place on the building which eventually has Spiderman live actor out of guest site be replaced by the mechanical one and then get launched.

I really hope its not something like look up in the building its Spiderman, you look away for a second and the whole thing is over.

Uh.....this ride from what we’ve seen will not be in the same universe as the IOA Spider-Man attraction. Not sure how having a robot swing on the roof will make me feel better about my ride experience.

It won’t change the ride experience. I said that. It won’t do much for us here but it will help to change the perception of some of the general public.

At the risk of sounding overly idealistic and not like my usual self- I'm actually completely fine with what it looks like they're delivering for this Spider Man attraction/the whole project.

WDI is fighting an uphill battle with this whole project. The Marvel Universe isn't particularly suited for a theme park land, since it takes place primarily in metropolitan cities that don't translate well into a themed environment in a Disney Park. Add in the fact that every year new heroes are introduced, people are killed, new villains and settings are added, and the iconic characters get new costumes/looks- how can you possibly build a land that is able to easily adapt and grow with the universe? By doing exactly what they're doing- making it an Avengers Base to justify the wide amount of heroes we'll undoubtedly see in the land.

One of the things about the Marvel Universe that resonates with everyone is the idea that anyone can become a hero- and that being a hero extends beyond a genetic mutation/suit/whatever other power you have. This message is especially profound on younger children (like below the age of 10). By building this attraction, youth are now able to live this message. If executed well, it'll be incredibly inspirational for that demographic, while still being fun for teenagers and adults.

This ride isn't meant to be the headliner of the land. It's the support attraction- and I honestly think it's going to be far better then the trash Falcon ride WDI delivered last year that's received a collective *yawn* from almost everyone.

This land will be a defining land for the park. In 10 years DCA will be Avengers Campus/Cars Land/Pixar Pier/Grizzly/Buena Vista. I strongly suspect Paradise Gardens Park and Hollywood Backlot don't have much time left.

So this photo shows what I assume would be attachment points for the cable launch in the hands, so I guess that system hasn't changed. Still have not seen any mechanisms added to crane, just decorative elements.

:28 seconds in for crane footage:

Also :14 seconds in this video shows it working on a smaller scale, so I assume that may be what would happen for a rooftop version, versus the really crazy jumps you see at start of video.
