EDIT: Just saw you're 20 years old. It all makes so much sense now. Until you move out of mommy and daddies house and get a professional career of your own I think its best you mind your seat at the kids table.
Alright, gramps. Go be a miserable, negative, curmudgeon some place else. We only welcome positivity here.

There's too much industrial theming recently. Smuggler's Run, Droid Depot, part of Guardians of the Galaxy, now Spiderman and the store? It's getting boring. I do hope that at least the ride brings something new, and isn't industrial all the way throughout.

I have a feeling that they wont really take us anywhere with these attractions. It’ll just be some “test facility” or something

just curious what where in Disneyland you are referring to. If it SWGE you are way off. I have been to Pakistan and it looks nothing like it.

it has more of a Morocco or even Egypt vibe, it actually reminded me of the main market in Cairo

I just wanted to change it up. Ok then, I’ll go back to saying Iraq.

The bazaar area has a Morocco vibe. However the Falcon and Village areas feel more like a Western Ghost town meets war torn Middle Eastern city meets a sterile space sport.

It’s replaces the “future port” cliche from the 70’s - 80’s. Mission to Mars, Horizons, Space Mountain, If You Had Wings / Dreamflight, Star Tours, etc. It seemed like every ride had flights DEPARTING NOW and gates with posters advertising other amazing destinations!

Space port is more fun and colorful, though. My problem with industrial theming isn’t so much that it’s unoriginal, it’s that it’s cold and lifeless.

And "space port" is aspirational and optimistic and signals adventure and seeking new exciting destinations. Run down warehouse signals decay, obsolescence, and misery. Just slightly different vibe.

Anyone seen this concept art for the W.E.B. Suppliers store

I wonder if its the new rectangular building in the center of the picture below?

Yes, I saw the gift shop sketch on that other site, and I wasn't impressed. It looks drab and dreary.

Do kids really want to be IMMERSED by Mr. Chapek in this type of environment? Does that building mean something to them? That building means nothing to me and it looks ugly, but then I only have a casual familiarity with Spiderman. Am I missing some plot significance I don't know about?

In other news, that aerial shot you posted is great! It shows how much land there is, but also how much land there isn't.

So out of that big plot of dirt we are getting;
  • Spiderman Video Game Dark Ride
  • Spiderman Gift Shop in a bad part of town
  • Hank Pym Ant Man Microbrewery Gastropub Instagram Lounge & AP Community Center
  • Marvel Meet N' Greet sets currently in Hollywood Land
  • Walkway returned from Cars Land to Hollywood Land
  • Access to empty plot of land where Avengers E Ticket goes in the future
Did I miss anything? 🧐

The latest $1 billion grossing Spider-Man entry had Peter Parker and his classmates Euro-tripping to Venice, Prague and London, but it never had the teens get excited about visiting a gentrified industrial plant in suburban California.

The fact Spider-Man's not in New York in the new movie makes me even less interested in seeing it tbh. Spider-Man is in New York. That's what I associate the character with.
