Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

Yet Avengers Campus already has a clone for a ride 1000 feet away.

Haha true but I’d say the issue is exacerbated the higher you go up the attraction ticket classification chain. To spend a gazillion dollars on two state of the art FOP style simulators for the same park/resort wouldn’t be ideal. Three if you count Soarin.

Not to mention the situation that brought WEBSLINGERS to this world is much different than a new build/ expansion to the park. They were trying to rush a new Marvel ride to to open with the new land and had Cheap Chapek at the helm as well as the space constraints of Bugs Land/ ITTBAB.

One also has to consider that with plans to bring Avatar theming to Disneyland/DCA they may have simply done the math that FoP would be coming with it, making the Quinjet Wakanda ride way too similar of a concept.

Isn't this the same as saying they shouldn't build Avatar because they have Soarin'?

I’m fine with the King Thanos/ Multiverse concept so long as they change the ride system to a coaster and not whatever thats supposed to be in the purposely vague concept art. Definitely looks more like a trackless ride or Transformers than a coaster.

I'd love if they'd do something like the Guardian's Coaster ... using the multiverse Thanos idea.

Probably would have to be a much smaller coaster, but it's a cool concept.

This info may be outdated at this point because this thing has changed so many times but last I heard it was a “family thrill ride” utilizing the same ride system as the new trackless Peter Pan being built at DisneySea. Ride vehicle was shown at the last D23 expo. Screens with depth integrated into a few physical sets

Oh that’s right it’s coming back to me now. So it’s a Trackless ride on a motion base right?

Motion base may be generous, I’ve heard it’s not a whole lot more than tilting. Again take this with a grain of salt things may have changed.

Either way- both the DisneySea Peter Pan and Epcot Guardians show buildings are absolutely massive and I’m concerned building either of these systems in DCA will completely dominate that side of the park. The building will be very visible from Cars Land and the parade route.

I’m not a fan of the idea of it being visible from Cars Land. Then again so is the Collectors Oil refinery but at least it’s “themed” and not a giant box.

I hope the king thanos ride is a trackless darkride like rise, but I guess we will see....I want a ride that lasts longer than 5+ minutes.

So it’s only been like, what….4 years since they announced this and we only have two concept renderings and no knowledge of what type of ride system this will be or any groundbreaking work or a timeframe of when it will open. Good job Disney, oh how you love to disappoint.

Yeah, at this point I truly don't care for another Avengers Campus ride. The land as a whole is terrible. Probably the worst land. The only good ride is the Guardians, but that existed before Avengers Campus.

Just let the new e-ticket ride die.

To be fair, 4 years ago this was meant to be a different ride system entirely. And it had gone through multiple concepts, including two separate coaster proposals that were killed for capacity reasons.

The land itself took quite a bit longer than usual to gestate, too. It missed two D23 Expos in a row (2015 and 2017) because they couldn't get attraction details sorted fast enough.

Avengers Campus should be the poster child for Troubled Production in the Disney Parks.
