Universal Cinematic Spectacular
Transformers
Springfield
TWWOHP 2.0
a multi attraction Jurassic Park
expansion
a Lorax dark Ride

But WDW is giving us pretty plastic house arrest bracelets and we can pick FP options 60 days out!!!!! That's much more magical than having anything new to do and enjoy in the theme parks!

They still can't tell you when the Mine Train is going to open.

Anyone saying Avatar is "on schedule" is just towing the company line.

Technically speaking we can't call it behind schedule yet since they have said from the very beginning that it would start construction in 2013. They still have 3 1/2 months left for that to be true.

Indeed. That said, there was talk that the FOTLK construction was delayed and I think it is not slated to open until early 2014. If so, that might actually delay the start of Avatar construction.

I'm curious when we will see any concept art or details about attractions. I'm sure it would be a separate announcement from anything Star Wars related. But I would think they are pretty far alone in terms of knowing what they plan to build. Right?

Not sure if anyone's interested, but here's the set of an Imagineer's desk working on Disney's Animal Kingdom's Avatar Land.

I do remember an initial opening date "sometime in 2015" when the project was announced (or maybe that was my wishful brain at the time). Can i still say the project was even announced? haha

Originally but the project was delayed along with the movies. Latest official word was construction starting by the end of this year. Time will tell.

In the question and answer with Tom Staggs in September 2011 right after the announcement he said:

"We’ve just begun the design phase on our Animal Kingdom project and we expect to begin construction in 2013. From start to finish, a project of this size and scope takes about 5 years to design and build. We can’t give you an exact date but we know that when it’s complete, it’s going to be a truly unforgettable experience. "

So even if they started design early in 2011, that would put the opening in 2016.
