AVATAR land - the specifics

I suppose I was wrong, as I said I might be. I'm still extremely confused as to how there is haze in the air (in front of the mountains)...

No worries. They can pump fog in the room or play with the picture in Photoshop. I do find it fascinating how so many here think it's artwork. A credit to the model makers, I suppose. To me the plastic waterfalls are the (2nd) biggest tell.

I "think" that dude is Zsolt Hormay (sp?) the rockwork guru behind Carsland, etc.

Egg thing is, I think, an Egg Thing®™. And you can quote me on that.

I think you are right...

Roger that...He is Zsolt

a true artist. honestly, it is just rock. but its frigging concrete to start off with! i always find it fascinating watching the progress of a rock facade or whatever, more than anything else in terms of attraction construction.

the video show's off some truly amazing night time effects. this is where all the crowds will gather once the sun sets on the park. i still wish that the night time show was within this land rather than on the lake, but whatever.

Honestly never would have even occurred to me that they would go to the trouble to pump in fog or anything like that for a photo. I'm impressed!

First one is a building, obviously, but it doesn't seem to be the same as the other building plans we've seen.

Second might be an overview of the whole land?

(hope this works, never tried to load an image on here before)

The one on the left could be the boat ride. It looks roughly like the concrete area that is being built for it.

I've been excited about this from Day 1, but every time I see a bit more, my excitement increases. I absolutely love DAK, and flip flop between it and MK as my fave Orlando park. With Pandora, and all the rest of the changes to DAK, I'm looking forward to spending even more time in a park where I already spend several hours per trip.

Those weird pale blue figurines in the drawn concept art could be Na'vi sized. If you look at the sizes of the trees next to the people, the scale doesn't really make sense in the drawn one. but the proportions of the mountains to the trees look the same to me.

And as someone else said, concept art is rarely drawn exactly to scale with plans. It's more of an artistic license rather than an engineered rendering.

I noticed that also in the new photo. The figures next to some of the trees look massive.

This picture, though, does demonstrate the lengths WDI are going in terms of immersion. Really hope that the water depicted in the model finds its way to the finished product. There is just something about having water cascading down from the floating mountains that will be breathtaking.
