AVATAR land - the specifics

Don't annoy us about Pandora further!
Oh, we have our Harambe work to do
Just think about how average Pandora will be
What use have those with short attention spans for you?
Another IP laden toy that helped destroy
The elder race of Disney’s ideals
Forget about your silly blue people
It doesn't fit the mythical creatures/conservation plan!

I would be hard to do the Navi accurately that way because they aren't simply tall, but larger overall then humans.

If Universal did this years ago, Disney won't have an issue with doing walk around characters in Pandora.

Sure, they're obviously more slender, but from what the Cosplayers have been able to pull off for Avatar already, I'm sure Disney can make it work.

It's easier to pull that off with a mechanical looking characters, especially when it comes to the face. Not saying Disney couldn't do it, just that it would not be easy.

I ventured bravely onto Google search and looked for Avatar Cosplay to spare everyone else here the indignity and horror of having to do so, so I expect many likes for this:

As long as they get tall, well built actors, they won't even need to have an apparatus beyond the nose. Between that and playing with perspectives (maybe using smaller objects, having them stand on different planes) they could use some film trickery to make the actors appear taller than they are.

So, hotel guests get their 60 day priority to Avatar's fastpass, and they get extra hours to see the place every summer evening?

I wish they had thrown locals a bone by opening the Fastpass window 30 days out to at least give em a fighting chance. ;)

I'm not totally against having EMH every night for hotels, but it does mean that AK will probably close to everyone else only an hour after it gets dark unless they plan on keeping the park open past midnight. Sort of a raw deal considering the difference in the land is going to literally be "night and day".

Can't wait till November when it'll be open to everyone for 4 or 5 hours every night.

US locals are Mereally peasantry that they can't be bothered with....clearly trying to boost vacation attendance....if the new land itself isn't enough and now there throwing freebies at them....how good is the land :)

From May 27 - July 4 they will open Pandora for WDW Hotel Guest and extra 2 hours from 11PM to 1 AM but only Pandora will be open for the extra hours not AK as a whole.
But if the park closes at 10 according to their website, does that mean you vacate the park for an hour?

They'll adjust the hours, Disney does this a lot. 11PM close is actually pretty good. Animal Kingdom being open for 14 hours, even with Pandora, is a heck of a stretch. Glad to see it, but the park was a ghost town during last summer's late night offerings. Hopefully Pandora and Rivers of Light will change that because it was downright creepy how empty the place was.

I wonder with how stupidly late at least that section will be open if I should make my family suffer by waking them up on time for EMH morning?

Sounds like a good arrival day plan if we feel up to it since we aren't getting in until after 6pm, going to AK the following day anyway.

I think 90% of the rubes won't care one way or another. The "lets ride the golf ball" crowd won't suffer or gain from it.... their subconscious is numbed :)

In the hunt for explaining story over and over... this is their crutch for pandora since they don't seem to be telling stories of individuals from the film...

Correct, I don't think most people will care as to whether there's a conservation message.
But it's me that cares, because I want people to come out of Pandora (and DAK in general) having made the connection, having been affected to some degree by the conservation message.

Yes, I also care personally, because otherwise Pandora fits DAK even less. But I care more for others. What a kind-hearted person I am! ;)

I'm skeptical that there won't be anything but the two Pandora rides in the one tier. Is there enough capacity between the two for everyone coming to DAK to get a FP+? Could you book FP+ if an entire tier is unavailable? With DAK likely having an uptick in attendance, I think it would be a recipe for disaster.

I feel like the M&G at Adventurers Outpost will be part of it. Or maybe one of the shows like FOTLK or Finding Nemo. They usually like to round off a tier with some all ages thing that anyone can do and has plenty of capacity.
