DAK AVATAR land - the specifics

To me, it seems like that scene they keep showing in previews is the first viewing of the Forest. The boat takes a turn and BAM....beautiful luminescence.

Whether there are scenes prior to that is the question.

What are the chances of being able to get a fastpass 30 days in advance (I'm a passholder)?

Also, when is the first day resort guests can get them?

I don't know but we are also passholders and we have an on-property stay for Memorial Day weekend, so I'm really hoping we can get something either Saturday, Sunday, or Monday morning before we leave. They're loaded into the FastPass System now, so it's possible they'll open up soon. If you have a 10 day stay, you're within your sixty day window for those dates now so I wouldn't be surprised to see them open up soon.

Typical, Disney posters already hating it before they've ridden it. I haven't seen anything that hasn't impressed me thus far in Pandora. This looks like the best land Disney has ever built! Have some faith fellow posters. I have no reason to doubt that the boat ride won't be great given the few clips we've seen of the same thing...

No surprise, there were people here hating Avatarland the day it was announced.

I do not exactly see any posts that say, "I hate it". Ill be there to visit shortly after Pandora opens and I am very excited, but at the same time, Im starting to wonder if the NRJ is anything more than Viper Wolves and the pink chandelier looking plant hanging from the ceiling? Is there any indication that there are additional layers of theme to go along with the forest aspect? A story perhaps? Im Hoping that there is more to it or they are not showing the highlight of the attraction in the previews.

Cars Land is pretty hard to beat. Yet we shall see.... like you said "in person" is the best experience. (fwiw, have not see anyone say they hate it and being critical of a layout is not saying you hate it) I know pictures do not do Cars Land justice as you need the music, lights, smells etc to set the ambiance for that WOW experience

im pretty sure thats the issue with the movie too lol.

This I agree with.
The difference with Pandora at WDW is that they built it.
That's classic Disney to me, and what grabbed me the moment I entered it the year it opened when I was in third grade.
People made this.
Designed it, constructed it, figured it all out.
That feeling I got when I saw Main Street, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Jungle Cruise, Pirates...
The 20K ride, though a favorite of mine was nothing spectacular itself - the ride anyway.
But the subs, the lagoon, and the rockwork?
Spectacular! And I did not even know of the movie or book at the time.

Unsure of how they are numbering the scenes since sometimes the load is Scene 1, but what they are showing is the beginning half of the ride....maybe Scene 2 or three...I believe there are 6 labeled Scenes..

It's a promo.
It's not supposed to reveal the entire ride.
Thanks for solving the brain busting mystery of what a preview is. However, I was referring to the fact that in any and every preview of the attraction they show the exact same thing. It reminds of how they debuted 7DMT and kept showing Dopey with diamond eyes in every promo. Many people speculated there would be a bigger reveal once the ride opened. Unfortunately, there was none.

Well, we already know that it's a relatively short ride, and it seems that the big reveal is the Shaman.
I too hope for more wow than we are seeing here - more articulation rather than static props.
We'll see.
But in a world where movie promos are in the habit of revealing the best lines and biggest moments of movies - I'm a bit old school and like a bit of mystery.

I agree. It does seem like every movie trailer basically tells you the whole story. As I said, Im hoping they are saving a bit for the actual experience. If not, it looks to be an enjoyable ride with some good atmosphere.

You can be a hater without saying the magical words, "I hate it". Not that I said anyone said they hated it, rsther that they were haters. #context

Reminds me of a lot of arguments about the speed of RSR. I think they go 30-40 mph but it was too slow and the ride would suck. Some just couldn't see that acceleration, steep hills and highly banked curves can make a ride seem much faster. I didn't hear much after it opened.

That's what separates a theme park from a ride.
It's the entire experience.

Hate to say it but I agree. You can see what looks like cable lines holding up the luminescent flowers. They seem to play the same scene with those jaguar looking things.

Past the hype it looks like the little mermaid ride with all the colors and "fakeness". At least with the little mermaid you have a cute story, what do you have with Navi? I love in some of the previews how James Cameron has to explain everything to the reporters because people just don't care enough about that story to know. Hopefully the other ride will be a thrilling one?

I think Disney missed the mark with The Little Mermaid ride as well. There is a perfect opportunity for the giant Ursula animatronic which would have been a wonder to see. Then have her beaten and give the kiddies the resolution they need. Good defeats evil...just like the movie...and happily ever after. I think Disney doesn't do anything daring anymore for fear that one guest's child will be scared.
