2 of the 3 were sequels to very successful franchises. The other was based on a single popular film.http://www.avclub.com/article/wait-those-avatar-sequels-just-got-even-longer-251872 2018 isn't happening.
So, we're looking at the first sequel coming out at least 10 years after Avatar came out... which I guess isn't a huge deal anymore, considering we've had sequels to Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Independence Day come out years after the originals (2 of the 3 were successful ventures).
Is this ride going to be a contender for best ride at the resort? How will it compare to Disney's other new headliners like Pirates Shanghai, TRON Lightcycles, Mystic Manor, Iron Man, etc.?Just to adress a thing or two...
In FoP, the door will lift ala traditional garage, and put you forward and out into the screen.
While it may seem like a bit of a let down, they had a banshee design early on (not leaked) that was most practical, but would have raised many issues. Joe also didn't like the idea of straight up riding one since it is AK. You ride on a Jeep on Kilamanjaro, not an elephant.
Don't worry about the FoP queue being too mechanical, as you saw the transition point in the GMA video.
On Na'Vi there is only one true AA, but lots of moving parts, like mechanical figures, and limited motion ones.
The way they use foliage, when entering from Discovery Island, will make for a grand reveal.
gotta be with a 44 inch height requirementIs there a harness? I don't see anything in the video that shows them being secured in which would mean you can't have a ton of movement for safety concerns.
Didn't a press release yesterday say you could feel the banshee breathe beneath you?

You should take Disney press releases seriously but not literally.
Looks like an exercise machine for preacher curls. That's a good questions. You don't see anything in this shot, unless something comes up from the back.

It's interesting. Even in that video though it seems the lady leans forward slightly and might have her hands on something that's out of view.Based on the information from this article it seems like it confirms that we will be riding on a tron cycle like vehicle that we straddle because it still mentions feeling the banshee breathe beneath you. On that GMA segment this morning where we saw them sitting in seats on FoP must have been the handicap accessible vehicle like people were speculating .
Given the goggles, I guess it's possible an AR banshee neck overlays and extends from the center part and it's the center part that you feel breathe if you lean forward against. Would be impressive if they could pull that off convincingly. It looks very similar to a disk-o coaster seat
After you sit down a small black bar lifts up behind you and locks in to secure you from the back. It's very pooh sized friendly.

That's a nice shot. The eight "stems" seem to correspond to the eight riders per row and they also seem to be spaced much more than plain bench seats would require. There is definitely going to be a wall the hides your view of the screen while you are boarding. You can see it here:
