clearly imagineers had to be flown to Pandora using special tech to get all the tidbits of the navi culture. Hence the staggering costs..

Completely agree, but thankfully Disney didn't cut things after the cost overruns happened.

Not this time, but they will want to drag back that cash from somewhere, price increases, future attractions and yet more cash grabs

Maybe following they epic ROL disaster, they are taking a different approach and decided that they should over-shoot the opening date so they have a few months to have the land open in technical rehearsals without being "officially" open.

Because logic would dictate: Year / Month / Day. Otherwise, when you sort dates, you'd have all your January Firsts from differing years right next to each other.
