The good thing is, the last time Disney's Animal Kingdom had a huge addition and the main component of that addition required some creative engineering there were absolutely no problems.I gotta say, there's a part of me that sees all that steel and concrete hanging up in the air,
and thinks . . . . thousands of pounds, hundreds of thousands of pounds, millions of pounds . . . of hard steel. Of
hard concrete. Above my head. Cantilevered out. Hanging there. Up there.
And I go . . . ack.
Go structural engineers! Go imagineers! Check and double check your weight bearing measurements.
Go welders! Laser scan your welds!
Go bolt manufacturers! Quality control is key! Make a great product!
Concrete folks! Check adhesion and crumbling properties!
Yay, team!
Ack.

Both are impressive.
Artist license. No giant gas planet.Okay...so really stupid question...
I've been wondering for months now if the part of the scaled model that has the gas giant Prometheus (that was the planet's name right?) attached behind the tree line/rockwork...
IS this actually going to be a thing...or is this just for show?
Be gentle. I know it's a dumb question...
I figured...just had to put that out there! lol Thanks!Artist license. No giant gas planet.
Could it be to protect painted areas from rain while they dry? Or perhaps there's some sort of heating/cooling taking place in that space? These are just guesses on my part, not a guru of construction myself.
im curious why they would cover/tarp that area?
construction gurus
Where do you see a tarp? Sorry, it's probably right in front of me.

On this picture it's on the very right hand side. However there was a better picture of it earlier.Where do you see a tarp? Sorry, it's probably right in front of me.
Without a better look, my best guess is it's a screen to prevent overspray onto the work site while they're spraying paint or something else on the other side of it.On this picture it's on the very right hand side. However there was a better picture of it earlier.

i figured it was vine related just was curiousI appears to be covering the vines, so it might be to protect them while they spray the concrete onto the rockwork mesh.
I've always wondered what that is!Is this object a cell phone tower disguised as a tree?

You'll exit through the gift shop. All this speculation about the rides is great. However the real question is where is the gift shop?
It is a cell tower, and I posted this link last week showing that you can see it when driving past DAK on Osceola.I've always wondered what that is!

It's most likely disguised as a tree because it can be seen from inside the park.Thanks.
Yes, I've wondered about it - and my sons and I have questioned it.
Wondering why it's a themed tree in a part of the park that the public doesn't have access to.
