I was going to ask - how early out do we typically see these types of permits?

@danlb_2000 can probably produce statistics down to the minute, but it SEEMS like show sets and sensitive electronics go in toward the last 1/3 or even 1/4 of the project. They want the buildings to be structurally sound, weather tight, dust free, and climate controlled.

It's reasonable to assume the FoP building meets all those requirements at this point.

Best comparison I could find was the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride which had permits for this sort of work about a year before opening.

Two permits today for Pro-Sound. One is for Flight of Passage, but I am not sure about the other.

521 W Savannah Circle - DAK - Show Installation
471 W. Savannch Circle (Flight of Passage) - DAK - Show Installation
How does the numbering go on West Savannah Circle? It seems 471 is the entire Flight of Passage/Na'vi River Journey show building. Is it possible that 521 is the mess hall? I doubt they're installing speakers to the land in general at this point so it would be logical to think it's inside a building.

This would be in line with my thinking as well. I don't think it's unreasonable for Pandora to be open in April of 2017, but the big hurdle is going to be how much of the themed walk ways they're going to install. I can't imagine that will be laid out quickly. From a rock work standpoint the rides and building facades may look done well before guests can enter the land.

I am not clear on the numbering. 521 was used for the old FotLK theater, so it might be the mess hall building.

This is looking great! I love the details of plants on the floating mountains- was concerned that they were going to leave it just painted 'rock' like Carsland (which fits there, of course).

I know little about construction. Do they build the big structures and underground stuff, then work closer to the ground buildings, finally adding utilities and pour the walkways? Just trying to get an idea of how this is progressing.

Wondering if someone could clarify a few things for me.

First, I remember hearing that the floating mountains are going to move around(probably slightly) to simulate the floating nature of them, is this still part of the plans? If so, which ones will be moving, all of them including the massive ones or just the smaller rocks?

Second, I also recall hearing that the rock that is most visible currently is the smallest of the mountains. Assuming that is true, are the large chunks underneath that rock the primary mountains?

Looking pretty good so far.

doubt there will be any motion, other than wind loading... those things are massive

If there is any motion, it'll only be there through October 2017 and then never again.

Waterfalls are planned to work until February 2018, though, so there's a bigger window for guests to enjoy those.
Stop it! lol... Let's hope they've learned from the yeti incident and that these effects have a longer lifespan ;) At least till 2021 when I'm going back
