Parts of it do, particularly the very southern parts, but most other parts of it have a sandier soil consistency that sit atop porous limestone reserves (hence all of the sinkholes). It's similar, but still not the same.
We get a mix of both conditions in North Florida. Duval and St John's tend to fall into the sandy variety while Clay and Nassau are basically large tracks of mud with a little top soil sprinkled on the top.

I guess I didn't mean relocate rather than build a new structure in the existing spot. Basically, tearing down and rebuilding in that spot would be a very negligible difference in cost than remodeling, and with a new structure, you have less maintenance, fewer piping/plumbing problems, etc. Of course, that building isn't that old so I guess my point is moot.
I agree that it seems like a drop in the bucket to rebuild (or at least significantly remodel) the existing restrooms so that they fit the new surroundings, but we do have precedent that would imply they may just keep them as-is

It's not like DCA's redo was done on the cheap (rumored to have cost ~$1.2B), yet these extremely out of place bathrooms remained. Although the surrounding area had been rethemed to a beer garden-like area, and Route 66 had been relocated to the other side of the park, the interiors were unchanged. Although it's great to have high hopes for Avatar, I wouldn't expect the bathrooms to get many changes

Good point. I'm not that familiar with the DCA makeover.

But we're talking about Disney here... If it can be reused it will be, especially if it means not having to relocate utilities like water and sewer. Unless the blue-sky plans were so vastly different that they had no choice but to move them, I'm sure someone said "you see this set of bathrooms here? Keep it there and build around it".

One of the reasons why the Dinorama section of Dinoland will be so easy to clear out and replace (if they ever come to their senses) is because there are no restrooms within the boundary of Dinorama (delineated by the "road" that runs by it). They're either in the Chester & Hester gift shop building or the ones adjacent to the Nemo theater.

We can always hope. My prayer is that when Avatar/Pandora is finished and it's beautiful and you have that new land plus the Africa section which looks stunning with the new Lion King theatre and new section they are currently building (shops and dining) that Disney will realize how cheap and tacky Dinoland looks. I think it will be a MAJOR clash of theming and Disney will have to address it.

I am a tad surprised as Dinoland doesn't sound like it will be touched with this expansion. We've passed the point about this just being about Avatar. Africa, Discovery Island and the Asian Lagoon are all receiving significant "plussing".

Not sure why/how Dinoland got passed over, unless there were bigger plans for 'later'.

The movie does have to come out first.

I've said it before, but I think it would be absolutely stupid to spend money "fixing" Dinoland when DAK needs a significant increase in attractions overall. WDW has, far too often, replaced when it needs to expand. There are open, undeveloped areas of DAK -- build another 2-4 rides in addition to the 2 rides for Pandora, then I think changing the attention to Dinorama would make sense. But why "address" an area that has 33% of the current rides in DAK, including one of the only ones with no height restriction; if anything, I'd like to see them get rid of the games and add another flat ride to Dinorama to increase the ride count.

It makes a lot of sense for them to leave the restroom building and incorporate it into the new land. It's already there. It likely provides the toilet capacity they'd need for that area of the park (especially if they also build dining, which will have interior restrooms as well). And it saves a ton of money, by not having to re-route sanitary sewer around the area.

However, if they do keep the building, it's an absolute guarantee that the insides will be stripped down to bare concrete and remodeled from scratch, similar to the Tomorrowland Skyway restrooms. They probably won't have to change much of the layout for ADA reasons, but there will be a little adjustment required. But after two years of construction workers using the facilities, and 17+ years of guest use, the current finishes and fixtures are essentially a write-off.

There's old bathroom tile from the old bathrooms where the new Peter pen Queue is now :)

Valid point.

I wonder if anything Jungle book would ever come to AK. Disney has a movie coming out this year or 2016 directed by Jon Favareau and another studio has Jungle Book: origins coming out soon. Seems like it will be back in the public eye (if it ever left). I could see a ride that focuses on real animals and not necessarily the animated version fitting in nicely into the park. Maybe if it's a hit that could happen. It'd be a nice way to honor a classic movie but also capitalize on the synergy of a new movie that Disney really loves right now.

I keep saying that even after Avatar, AK could still use 2-3 rides to really flesh it out.

DAK definitely needs another EXPANSION after Avatar, hopefully something materializes in the next few years once Avatar finally opens.

Right now we know there are big plans for DHS, hopefully that will be well underway by the time Avatar opens and maybe they can pull the trigger on another DAK expansion shortly after. Epcot is in need of work, but it can still hold guests for a day or more. DAK and DHS need expansions still to get to that level before Epcot becomes a main priority.

As a father of twin boys (soon to be 13 years of age) who has taken his family to WDW every season since the boys were 6, what I feel each park needs is at least one more additional thrill type ride each.
AK will be getting this with Avatar.
HS will be getting this with the Star Wars expansion provided that goes through.
I'm finding myself in a position where I'm afraid my boys will age out, and be more interested in Universal.
