Austin's Birthday Trip!

This trip included Austin, DS who turned 4 on January 7th, Maw Maw (My Mom), Oma (my Grandma) and me. We left on Monday the 5th to head down to Lake City. I decided to paint my car up to make it a little more “fun” for Austin.

On Tuesday morning we arrived at SSR around 9am, checked in and headed for DHS. The first thing I noticed was that they hadn’t taken down the stuff from Million Dreams.

They were painting on the hat so it looks like the rumors that it’s going away aren’t true

I’m not good and remembering what ride we rode in what order so I won’t go there. We actually, did a lot more shows and other things this trip than our normal trips, because of the slower pace we had to keep with Maw Maw and Oma.

This is Austin’s favorite part of his favorite show!

After Lights Motors Action, he had to get his picture taken with the guys from Cars

Austin LOVES pin trading and starts yelling “Pin Trader! Pin Trader!!” as soon as he sees one. He traded pins with one of the DVC guys and then the gum challenged him to an arm wrestling competition.

Since Austin was the clear winner, the CM told me I needed to take a picture of him to prove he was still a “tough guy”

Nice report Heidi! Your Yukon must have a ton of miles on it from all the trips to WDW that you have made...

Thanks and yes I do put quite the miles on the poor car. We usually trade them in before they go out of warranty (around 18 months for 36,000 miles ), however I get to keep this one a bit longer! I just went out of warranty last week. I talked Kevin into waiting a bit before trading it in, since, right now we can only get about half what we paid for it. The last one we had, we got almost what we paid for it in trade in sight unseen. No one wants a big tank sitting on their lot right now  Besides, Kevin wants an Escalade next so this gives me a little time to talk him into getting me another Denali instead. I love this car! I can't see paying the extra cash for an Escalade, when the Denali has everything except for the air conditioned seats. :hammer:

Air conditioned seats!! I've never heard of that...

:ROFLOL: Go for a test drive in a caddy. They have little holes all in the seats for the air conditioning. It really makes the seats look ugly IMO. Don't get me wrong, if I could find an Escalade for the price I pay for a Denali, I'd go for it  I have plenty of toys in the Denali to keep me happy.

Not old, just vintage.

Now I have heard it all. I can't say I have ever had the desire while driving to have my butt air conditioned.

Nice report. Our family's PP accident occurred while waiting in line for TSMM in June. I'll leave the family member a mystery. :lookaroun

Cool trip report! I love hearing about the celebrations! :king: I especially love how you decorated your Yukon! Very cool!

Yeah, I wouldn't have thought of that! We're driving down for our next trip, but by hour 12 or so the paint may aggrivate me more than amuse me :ROFLOL: :lookaroun

Thanks for the pics and report, Heidi! :sohappy:

Thanks for the pics and report, Heidi! :sohappy:

The paint really didn't bother me at all. It's an 8 hour drive for us total. You wouldn't believe all the folks honking their horns and waving at Austin. He LOVED all the attention! I think I'm going to do that for every trip now :ROFLOL:

Glad you had a great trip. Austin's adorable. Oh, about the air conditioned/heated seats, I'll have to tell you what Darrell K. Royal said about them!!:ROFLOL: If you want to hear it, that is.
