That’s the thing - it wasn’t worth $15 to me and had I not seen it (thanks to the person who started this thread) for $9.99, I wouldn’t have even bothered. Then, by the time I’d gotten done doing all my running around I started thinking that I should have just paid the $15 and then I got angry and thought “NO!” I didn’t want it bad enough to pay that much and then I thought about all the running around back and forth to get it for $10 and decided that it really wasn’t worth all of that either - a loose/loose situation for me all the way around… Needless to say, I’ve had an enormous mix of emotions regarding this movie today.

The real stinker is that they will probably have it on sale for $10 at Best Buy the day after Thanksgiving like they did with a bunch of movies last year! :hammer:

I don’t know. To be honest, I haven’t seen the first three since before they were re-released in theaters with the digital effects. I was never that big of a fan. I got dragged to Episode 1 which I thought was totally stupid because I didn’t remember enough from the first three to piece certain things together and I thought the storyline was predictable, boring and geared towards children.. Oh and don’t even get me started on that Jar-Jar thing… Then along came Episode 2. I was pretty much comfortable with the belief that Lucas was just trying to milk a dead cow by even trying this whole lame “prequel” thing at this point and had no plans to see the movie till I found out it would be in digital in a theater in my area. Even then I waited about three months till all the hype died down. I figured that since it was digital, it should look the same after playing for three months as it did on opening night (no dusty film or parts of scenes missing as a result of camera jams that caused frames to be removed). In all honesty, I was pleasantly surprised and sort of got a kick at how they were alluding to the beginning of the Storm Troopers and all but… I thought old Darthy had become only moderately less unlikable since he had grown up from the annoying little kid that couldn’t act to save his life from the previous one and a lot of the other acting seemed sort of “off” to me in some parts. I don’t know. Like I said, I’m not a big Star Wars fan so I guess that I just wasn’t all that into it. I may go to see the next one just to round things off but I don’t plan on buying any six move collectors pack anytime in the future if you know what I mean. :)

Hey! You asked! :p

I have nothing against Star Wars overall or the people that live for it but it just isn’t my cup of tea. I think George Lucas is better off dealing with the technical side to things than the directing side but that is just my taste. :)

I agree. The best Star Wars movie was Episode V, and Lucas didn't direct that one. That being said, however, having just watched Episode II, I have to say...
MY HOME THEATRE ROCKS!!!!

And the nice thing is you can skip over the whole 'My mommy's dead, and it's all Obi-Wans fault' crap.... ;)

What a painful movie to watch after the first four. The actor playing Anakin could not have done a worse job of acting than he did. Queen/Senator/Padme should have known better than to have fallen in a little school girl crush for some punk that was 10 years younger than her, but I guess we needed the teenage girl factor so they would see the movie. The best part of the movie was the last 20 minutes and Yoda's kick-butt scene. Maybe I'm just getting too old for teenage love drivel...And I bought the movie for my 13 year old. He, of course, loves it.

"I killed them. I killed them all. And not just the men, either."

*sigh*

What was it Harrison Ford said... "You may write this crap George, but you don't have to say it!"

However...

I forgot how cool the sonic weapon was during the asteroid chase scene. And that battle at the end!!!!!!! I love it when my walls shake.... :D

I for one (remember I am a HUGE star wars fan) thought that Hayden Christensen did a great job of playing his role as Anakin Skywalker. And as for the whole "love story" part of the movie... it has to happen some time. Without the love story.. there would be no Princess Leia of Alderan or Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight. ...Out of all the movies.... I rank this #2 with Empire Strikes Back still being number one. Eventhough I havnt saw it 25 times (thats... just awesome...) I still have saw it around.. I dont know.. alot.. and I still love it.

And as Darth already said.. the "My mommys dead.. blah blah blah" was needed to portray Anakins side which in the long run.. will ruin his life. Im not.. just a lover of this movie because I am a teenager (15). I am in love with this movie and all the others because I grew up with Star Wars.

I know we are not all Star Wars geeks :)p ) ... you just need to understand.. lol Im not trying to be mean.. sorry if I am..:lookaroun

Mr Pomey- Im sorry you had all that trouble :( Your probably right about it being 9.99 the day after Thanksgiving.. lol I just cant wait that long :)

DarthDarrel- (I spelled it right!!) You are my hero!:king:

I truly thought that Hayden did a horrible job...he OVER-acted his part...and he was VERY whiny...

I liked 2 things from Episode 1...I liked the Darth Maul lightsaber battle...and I liked young Anakin. I thought this child prodigy was portrayed wonderfully.

In my opinion...the quality of the Star Wars movies is like this:
Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
Episode IV - A New Hope
Episode II - Attack of the Clones
Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (ewoks...yummy)
Episode I - Phantom Menace (any Jar Jar-B-Que Ribs?)

(Episode V being the best)

I liked 5, 4, 3, 6, 2, 1: 3 is a prediction though.

Yeah, if I had to predict...we'd be pretty close :)

5, 4, 3, 2, 6, 1

Wait you liked two over six? HOW? Sorry .. I guess I'm just... partial to the original triology. I'd have to label mine.. VI, V, IV (cause my brother made me watch it a MILLION times) II, I.

Anakin in II WAS whiny.. and the loves scenes were extremely corny, it could have been done so much better (IMHO). Oh and Ewoks are NOT yummy they are cute and cuddly.

In my opinion...even though the Ewoks were more bearable than Jar Jar...I really didn't like them..and I felt that they "cutened" a really great trilogy...(R2 and 3PO did that already...but they didn't ruin the feeling and flow)

Yay, Star Wars!

I agree that the "crush" is uncomfortable, and who knows WHAT she sees in him, but we've all known it was going to happen because how else would Luke and Leia have been conceived if their parents had never hooked up?

Episode 1 was by far the worst of the series, but it did have a few saving graces. Young Anakin was one of them. JJ Binks was a terrible idea and though I am a vegetarian, Jar Jar ribs might be tasty :slurp:

My brother and me always used to watch the Star Wars series together, and for us, he biggest thing missing from Episodes 1 and 2 is Harrison Ford. He has no place there, so we can't complain, but still, we miss Han!

wow...somebody else that actually liked the little Ani :) I think I'm still alone in the fact that I think that Episode 2 was better than Return of the Jedi (granted...it's close...but I think I enjoy 2 a little bit more)

IMHO - The first half of Jedi was fantastic, the whole Jabba's palace sequence is easily one of the best sequences. The ewoks added a cute factor to what otherwise would've been a very dark movie.

In AOTC the love scenes were a bit corny and awkward, but remember the supposed age of Anakin, around 18. Weren't alot of us extremely awkward at 18, I know i was. Also remember who the author is, The great flanneled one doesn't write very good love scenes. Hayden's acting was a bit forced, but then so was Mark Hamil's. Look at how whiny he was in "A New Hope". Hayden's acting will improve just as Mark's did. Besides it won't matter once he's behind the black mask.

If i was forced to rate them this would be my order: 6, 2, 4, 5, 1.
