Hi guys! Here I am at the most magical place on earth, and I have been stuck in bed ALL day with a really bad stomach bug. We had to cancel our ADR for Chef Mickeys tonight, which I am severely dissapointed about. I'm hoping I will feel better tomorrow. We still have 2 park days left; AK & DHS. We did however, have 2 wonderful days at MK with our twins. How many of you have been sick during your vacation ??

I was sick years ago when we stayed at POR...then it was Dixie Landings. I think I had some bad cream in my coffee..you know those little containers they keep on the tables. Anyway... My family had reservations for Victoria and Alberts and I obviously, could not go. I was never so sick. I remember it like it was yesterday because I started to feel queasy on a boat we rented and I thought It was motion sickness. I was sick all night but managed to drag myself to Typhoon Lagoon the next afternoon. I look like death in the photos we took. It is no fun to get sick at Disney World. Hope you feel better soon!

My hubby was sick on our sept 2012 trip. He was miserable, but made the best of it. He couldn't keep any food in him. Come to find out when we returned he had an infection attacking his thyroid, he lost over 50 pounds in 2 months. We are lucky nothing serious happened whole we were out of the county(we are Canadian) an in disney! He had a much better time on our honeymoon this year and raved about the food. Hope you feel better and can enjoy the last couple days!

I was ill last year such a bad cough. It didn't hit me as bad as you are though as I still went out but obviously missed some of the rides/shows so I didn't spoil it for others. Took a trip to Walmart and the medicine cleared it within a week. Hope you're out of bed 2mrw and hitting those parks

my best suggestion to stomach bug is.. take an anti acid tab and try to limit your eating.
eating too much = make things worse.. acid reflux = sore throat and cold like stuff.

so better safe than sorry!
Also I hope you feel better soon!

I had a cold or something the whole week we were at POFQ in 2006. I didn't feel great, but didn't let it affect anything we did. I just got by on adrenaline.

My wife had to stay in bed one day with a stomach flu on another trip when I took the kids to Uni.

On my vacation, on a particular day I hopped to Epcot from MK. After a 2pm lunch at Rose & Crown pub, I felt very warm. Went to first aid and found out I had a 101 degree temp. I lay down on a cot for an hour, drank PowerAide and placed wet towels on my forehead. I had a FP for Soarin' at 4:30. When I arrived, I just couldn't do it. I gave the FP to a CM to give to another guest. I took the bus back to the hotel to rest. Felt better later and returned for my ADR at La Hacienda.

I'm so sorry to hear your sick. My husband, daughter and I all got sick immediately after lunch at Pinocchios this past June on our last day of the trip. I got really dehydrated and could not stop throwing up. That evening from our room at PORiverside, I ended up going to the ER and they confirmed it was food poisoning. I'm so thankful for theDisney staff, the resort manager, and the ER people who came to my room and took me. I didn't realize being so sick could raise blood pressure and they gave me a medicine in my IV to make me stop going through the motions of throwing up.
Hope you get better to enjoy the rest of your trip!

I'm so sorry but I understand your saddness. In MAy I got sick after drinking from the Jungle Cruise water fountain. I'm not 100% sure that's what it was but that's my theory and I'm sticking with it. I hope you get to feeling better and enjoy the rest of your vacation.

I've never been sick like that at WDW (although, I have battled head colds); however, I got a really bad case of food poisoning on a trip to Vegas back in 2007. We had DD7 with us at the time- who was only 11mos old back then. I was up in the room w/her while DH went down to the casino- totally unaware that I became violently ill after he left. Let's just say it was pure misery. I'm glad you were at least able to get in 2 MK days in before everything hit. Do your best to stay hydrated...if you can handle it...Gatorade or even Pedialyte are pretty helpful with these things. You might even be able to phone in an order for some chicken broth & jell-o. Hope you feel better soon :)

Sorry to hear your not feeling too magic, here's hoping you have a quick and magical recovery...It's always been a nightmare when we spend 2 years planning to visit WDW, then one of us gets unwell...There was one year, while having breakfast at WPE at downtown, when I had this sudden funny feeling in my stomach, I quickly ran to the toilet, and was sick..:depressed:..After I came back to our table, I felt right as rain, weird..

Our trio all got sick during a trip in November a few years back. We passed around a horrible stomach thing that only lasted about 24 hours for each of us - but with only a 4 day trip, it kind of threw a wrench into just about everything. Fairly certain DD got it when we stopped at a road side rest stop on the I95 drive south and then passed it to DW and finally to me.

I am so sorry that you are not feeling well. It is never fun to get sick, but while on vacation after you have planned and looked forward to it, is really lousy. My DH got sick a few years ago on the last full day of our trip with the worst stomach bug that he had in years. He couldn't leave the room, so I took the kids into the MK without him. It wasn't the same without the whole family together.
I always stress before we leave on our trips, making sure we have all had the flu shot and staying clear of sick extended family friends and friends. I run around in the trip with antibacterial soap to try to protect us rom germs while on the trip. But the reality is that when you are around so many people every day, you unfortunately get exposed to things and there may be nothing you can do to prevent illness.
I hope you feel better today and enjoy the rest of your vacation with your family.

FEEL BETTER!

Few years ago had a stomach thing. Felt okay enough but, if I ate anything is was very quick to make its exit. I just ate enough to sustain and made the best of it.
