In respect to a clock face, in which direction are the planets spinning? Clockwise or counterclockwise?

Great news. I wish I could have seen them spinning 2 weeks ago. :(

Hopefully they'll last long enough to see them on my next vacation.

Wouldn't it be hard to take a picture of a spinning planet??? Under most circumstances when you take a picture it freezes the image...so you wouldn't be able to tell it was spinning!

What we need is Ryland to do some video! (Hint, hint)

Two photos from the same point taken about 10 seconds apart will do the trick! :) lol

All I saw on the summery page for this thread was "Astro Orbiter`s Planets...."
and I got a big grin! Thank you to the powers that be - some real good show.

I just find it very odd that it took that long to replace the planets.

I agree. Hopefully this means they took their time and figured out a way for them to spin and keep spinning.

Sorry, I am recovering from a seizure I received when looking at this thread's title.

I really wish I could go to the park, but I have a family emergency elsewhere. Someone post photos. Videos. Something. :D

I'll see em ASAP. :) THANKS!

Yep, they sure were spinning. The individual planets were spinning, but the entire planet structure was not. I'm not even positive if that thing spun at all, it's been so long.

The individual planets spun themselves back before 2002. . . the giant yellow "center" never spun individually, I don't believe...

Erm... lets get technical. The yellow central ball thingy used to spin, along with the neon tower thing above it. Or at least it looked like it did since the silver frame thingy around it (the yellow ball thingy) span with the tower thing. Obviously the green thingies at the side span in unison with the ride.

I had to check video myself...
